and other things to do nearby, the location is quite nice. (although you will occasionally see homeless people in the area) 2) Friendly Management- The leasing office folks (Tim, Lorena, Danica, Ty) are super nice and were always very prompt in assisting us be it with a maintenance request or anything else. 3) Convenience and safety: With a closed garage parking, dedicated package room, trash chutes on each floor and key fob access into the property, elevators etc. there's a good sense of convenience and security as well. 4) Reasonably priced - part of the benefit of these apartments not being "luxury apartments" like a lot of others in SLC, the rent is quite reasonable. Cons: 1) Apartment appearance: Though not a deal-breaker by any means, I will say that the units can definitely do with some renovations/remodeling - at least a coat of a fresher looking shade of paint. The cabinetry in the kitchen, bathrooms, various fittings etc. are also not very high quality and the units overall exude a bit of an "old" vibe. To sum it up though - the pros far outweigh the cons and I would recommend these apartments for anybody looking to rent in this area.
see moreand especially to Lorena who always went beyond to help me. Second, the location of this place is within walking distance from the most popular venues in downtown including The Complex (literally next building), Metro, Depot, Gateway, Clark Planetarium, and Delta Center. Further, the central bus station and a few train stations including for Front Runner are within 5-10 min of walking. The building is well secured and doors in the building can be opened only by residents who have magnet keys. Also, the building is well maintained outside and inside. I would like to mention that during my 2+ years of staying I have never placed a maintenance request because all appliances were in great condition. The plus for me was a soft carpet in my apartment. For some people who would decide to choose an apartment facing the railroad side noise from cargo trains can probably be a problem. For me it was not an issue; instead, every night I had a great chance to witness beautiful sunsets and mountains from my balcony. Finally, I have never heard any of my neighbors because of the very thick walls. You can hear people while walking in the hall (music, TV, someone is partying) but, once you enter your apartment, it’s just isolated from the rest of the building. All the residents I met during my stay in Liberty Gateway were friendly and very nice people. I would definitely recommend considering living in this place. (The only reason why I moved out was the relocation to another state.)

see moreused in the apartments is terrible. Everything is prone to breaking, and you’ll find yourself constantly dealing with maintenance issues. I had frequent problems with my apartment’s appliances, especially the dishwasher. Before we moved out, maintenance fixed a pipe in the dishwasher, but they did it in a way that caused it to rub against the door when it closed, eventually melting the plastic. They charged me for that. The cabinets were falling apart and couldn’t even hold basic items without breaking. And guess what? They charged me for that too. They tried to hit me with an $8,000 bill, claiming they needed to completely remodel the apartment! I fought them tooth and nail, but in the end, I still had to pay $4,000. These people don’t realize that karma will catch up with them. There’s no way those charges were anywhere near accurate, but since I had already moved out of state, I had no way to go back and contest it. Eventually, when collections got involved, I had to give up. Avoid this place at all costs! If you have kids, be especially cautious!
see moreour lease, all the way up to the current regime in the leasing office, they’re all very friendly and helpful. No complaints there. I don’t even have any complaints on the unit itself that I stayed in. The appliances and everything were fine, and given the location and the price, I have no complaints. Now here’s where my review unfortunately takes a turn. During the latter half of my stay here, it seems like the overall upkeep of the halls took a decline. When I moved in, the halls and elevators not only stayed swept or vacuumed, but every hallway, every elevator that you would walk into would smell nice. Over the past few months that has sadly changed. Our floor is constantly dirty through the halls, people just leave their big trash laying around outside of the trash chute, and the elevator pretty frequently stinks. But all of that can be attributed to the other tenants just as much or more than the building itself. However, the last thing I’ll say (and this is what’s really bugging me because it’s been brewing for a while) is that the maintenance manager is petty. I had to place a few maintenance orders during my stay, no more than any other place I’ve lived, but after one particular issue I had with my closet system falling apart, it fell apart again right after. Upon examining, you could tell it was put back together without much care or thought behind how sturdy a closet system should be. So when I placed another maintenance order, I pointed this out, and it seems that the main maintenance guy (who was the one who did it) took it personally. When he came back, he proceeded to give me and my wife a crazy attitude and try to make it seem like it was my fault, claiming that I’ll be hearing from the office about hanging too much clothes. He claimed that I was trying to hang at least 60 pounds of clothes which is way too much, even though the hardware in the closet is rated for 150+ pounds. I’ve had way more clothes at every other apartment and I’ve never had an issue. But for the sake of entertaining him, I weighed the clothes myself and it was actually only 30 pounds of clothes. So for 30 pounds of clothes to collapse 150 pound rated equipment, what does that tell you? It wasn’t mounted right, which was my whole original point. Ever since then I’ve noticed his demeanor was different towards my wife and I whenever I saw him around. Finally, today I came to grab the last of our stuff, and since I’m loading up, I did what anybody would do and I parked my car right up near the elevator, but still kept it out of the way so that I wasn’t blocking anybody/anything. I’ve done this many times, other tenants have done it many times, I’ve never seen or heard of any issues. I came back down 10 minutes later to find a big ass tow warning sticker right on my windshield. Knowing the maintenance office is right near the elevator, I went over to ask one of them for something to scrape the sticker off, and once the same guy saw me, he started walking over smugly and says “oh that’s your car? Yeah that’s not a spot” I said “I know I was just loading something up real quick, but now that you put a huge sticker on my windshield, do you have something I can peel it off with?” “Yeah that’s not a spot, you can’t park your car there” “okay fine ill move it, but I can’t until I take this sticker off the windshield” so then he goes into his office and brings me a little razorblade to scrape it off myself and walks off. Took me like 20 minutes to get all the gunk off. That to me was the final straw. I wasn’t going to say anything about the other stuff before, but after that pettiness he just showed me, I’m pretty pissed.
