I wish I could give 0 stars. Whatever you do, no matter how much you love the apartment and the pricing, DONT MOVE HERE. They will scam you on utilities, your AC will be broken every summer, your roof will leak, the elevators will be consistently out of order, and the leasing office and maintenance team will ignore your phone calls and emails. You will not be treated like a human and your problems will not be taken seriously. I have never had less respect for a property management team. Oh and they require 60 days notice before you move which is a nightmare. Everyone who lives here hates it. BEWARE ALL FAM RESIDENTIAL PROPERTIES.

The elevator in this building is constantly down. Yesterday (May 30) I ended up stuck in my unit on the 10th floor while in a medical emergency. I injured my back while working out and needed to get to the ER. I informed the staff that I could not make it down the stairs and needed to see a doctor immediately. The office staff was incredibly disrespectful over the phone and then also refused to answer my email request for updates. I informed them of the emergency and still never received a single response or update. They sent out a general email to all lease holders at 11:00A after I talked with them around 9:15A. But I received zero updates or even an acknowledgment of the pain and inconvenience they had caused me. Attached are the emails I sent. You can see they never responded. If you move here just know YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN if anything goes wrong. The staff will do nothing to help you, they will ignore your maintenance concerns… The company will do nothing for you once you move in. Also I hear from people in other units that they have roaches… I never see any in my unit as I am a rather clean person and don’t have neighbors… but apparently other units are infested… & I looked out the window the other night and saw that the unit below mine is completely trashed.. it looked like a homeless encampment in there. Clothes and trash shattered everywhere! I wonder where they find these people… straight outa skid row? And also, the person Kina that everyone mentions in other reviews is NO LONGER EMPLOYED here, so yeah… most of the reviews that are positive mention Kina… whelp, she was awesome… and kind… but she no longer works here.

If I could give zero stars I would. I applied to this complex in December. In their police it states if you’re not approved for the apartment they will give your 500 dollars back. It’s April and I still have not received a check in the mail or the money returned on my card. I’ve called multiple times and they claim they will speak with the property manager and they do not. From December to April I have called 10 times and get no response about my money. DON’T APPLY HERE !!!!!!!!

THEY ARE STEALING DEPOSITS!!! I was planning my move to LA and applied to Jaide Lofts this past November. I was accepted rather quickly, but was soon notified that since my move in date was scheduled for more than 2 weeks out they would not hold my unit and would have to refund my deposit…fast forward to January 6th at the time of writing this and I STILL do not have my $500 deposit back. I called December 3rd and the property manager Eric said that my deposit had been mailed back to me on December 2nd and it would take 5-7 business days to receive it (from LA to Chicago where I was living at the time). I still don’t have it. I called again near the end of December and was told by a woman at the front desk that they did not send anything to me and my payment was sitting there unprocessed. I spoke to Eric that same day and he said it was sent. I told him what the front desk lady told me and he seemed annoyed that somebody told me what was really going on. Today (January 6th) I again spoke with Eric who told me they would resend with expedited shipping and was informed that their financial department operates out of Florida. Wait wasn’t I told on December 3rd that the check would come from California?? From the other comments I see I’m not the only person in this situation and this is unforgivably ridiculous. I have my bank involved and am considering taking this to small claims court. I see there are many others in this same situation, and I would love to do a class action lawsuit if it comes down to that. The person over all of this is Suzan McCloud and I cannot get in contact with her (poor management starts at the top right?) With all that said, please save your time and money and apply elsewhere (just not their sister properties).

Avoid FAM Residential — predatory practices, deceptive tactics. Going on 15 days since I requested my A/C fixed. Can't wait to leave this hell hole.
