I’ve been a resident here for many years, even when it was pretty bad and I have to say that they have turned it around. The streets have been completely redone, before Acorn and Madeline were some of the worst streets to drive on because of the potholes in all of San Diego. The maintenance team, I have known them for a long time and they are phenomenal. On time, very respectful. Finally, the building is older yes but it has seen improvements and upkeep which is better than most property management companies.

I’ve been living here for 6 months and im on the verge of breaking my lease because of how horrible the place is. You will definitely be dealing with cockroaches. We’ve already done 2 exterminations and no luck. The laundry room I share with my neighbors is horrendous. They have no manners for others in keeping it clean or taking out their clothes in a timely manner. They have signs saying they have cameras but they don’t, we have 2 washers and 2 dryers but 1 washer is always broken. Either you try to find parking on the street (good luck.) or pay for 1 parking pass (55$) the roads are horrible.
The gym needs a lot of improvement (most equipment looks unsafe)
The pool is decent and they have 2 hot tubs
When we moved in one hot tub wasn’t usable because it wasn’t maintained. (Leaves and bugs) but they’ve since cleaned it.
Unfortunately the only positive is that Vons is walking distance and office/maintenance is great. Alex always tries her best to keep everyone happy but it’s the community who lives here that make that difficult.
All of the maintenance guys are always on top of everything and have a friendly demeanor.
Overall if you are looking for a cheap place I don’t recommend it. This is definitely the definition of “the manager special” when moved in everything is just painted over. All the hardware to the doors, kitchen doors, bathroom, and even the light bulbs had paint on them because they didn’t even care to cover those up before painting.
Save up a little more to get peace of mind and cleanness.

Took out most of my security deposit for the carpet which was ruined by them. Do NOT trust them!!! My bedroom floor was soaked with water the first day I moved in. After it rained the water went through the wall and into my apartment. A few weeks later my furniture is ruined and my apartment is UNINHABITABLE. I am sleeping on my linoleum living room floor while my bedroom is flooded AGAIN. You can see the yellowing and rust on my Posture Pedic Cali king bed. Completely RUINED. management gave me 40 credit and said that this is habitable and refuses to fix the problem. The parking spaces are definitely over sold, at night I find zero parking. PARKING is becoming a big deal for me when I come home from work late at night and there is literally not a single space in the complex or on the street. I have an issue with bugs here within the first day, ROACHES and SPIDERS. I have found MOLD in my bathroom and termites from the wall. With my bedroom flooded i guess I can expect to have mold in the bedroom as well. I have not felt comfortable or healthy since moving here. My neighbors have had a lot to say in the small amount of time that I have been here. The management has not been transparent on several occasions, they lie constantly and do nothing to help renters that LIVE here.

I’ve only lived here for a month and I can’t complain. The landscaping is well maintained, there are multiple laundry rooms for use, multiple pools/hot tubs for use, there are always parking spots available, the complex is in walking distance of grocery stores and other mainstream shopping, the maintenance team is quick/friendly, and the staff is so welcoming and accommodating.
From my first interaction cracking jokes with Arrion to consistent and pleasant conversations with Aleks, ensuring my lease was good to go, everyone has been wonderful.
Thank you Dorado Plaza, the maintenance team, Arrion, Aleksandra, Susan, and all those involved in making this apartment complex great!

My stay at Dorado Plaza was very memorable as it was my first non-college apartment. I loved everything about my apartment and I cannot stress how helpful management at Dorado Plaza was as well.
Susan and her team have helped us through so many things and when I say that they will help you whenever they can, they most definitely will. Susan, who is the property manager at Dorado Plaza has made things possible for us when we were in desperate times of needing help. She ensured our safety and made sure that it was her number one priority. If it wasn’t for Susan and her team, we would not be as happy as we are right now.
Dorado Plaza is an amazing place to live and the management team will do everything to make their tenants feel safe, respected, and at peace. Thank you so much Dorado Plaza, Susan, Aleks, and the rest of the Dorado team for making our stay so memorable.
