Exceptional customer service and professionalism; my tour here was particularly elevated by the concierge Shaina and the resident services coordinator Destiny. Both were super polite and helpful. I was on the fence before I visited, but my interactions with both Destiny and Shaina made me consider renting here. The amenities and location are great as well; Destiny made sure I got to see the Skylounge and the pool and any other features she could think of.

Shayna, Destiny and Robert are the most accommodating receptionist. Everyday they remain positive and willing to help anyone who enters the building with no refusal. Any questions will be answered. Any need will be fulfilled. You just can’t go wrong when you cross their path. As always, will remain in good hands

Current resident here. Regarding safety - My car was damaged in the parking lots here with a resident or guest smearing cement mixture across the windows and doors of my car. I reached out to management and coincidentally all cameras in the parking garage were not working at the time it happened. And apparently this was the case with other cameras throughout the buildings. The fact that these cameras were not working was not relayed and communicated to us as residents. And they did nothing to help rectify the situation after it happened. If you have an EV car also know that this property only has TWO very slow charging ports for the ENTIRE 17 FLOORS OF RESIDENTS. Residents are always fighting for spots. The charging ports also take 12+ hours to fully charge vehicles. And many times one of the two charging ports are not working/broken. Ive seen police be called for resident disputes and also have neighbors bordering on domestic abuse yelling 24/7 that I had to report. The property management company UDR is also one of the worst I’ve ever worked with - for simple resolutions they take 3weeks to a month to address via email. If you try looking them up, you’ll find that there is no direct phone line that actually reaches them. I had to personally talk to the front desk reception to try to get things expedited because the management company wasn’t assisting me with a charge error.

This is a great building and one I enjoyed touring through as a local real estate agent but the leasing office needs better management it’s overly complicated to reach a live person. Bring real people back into residential buildings Covid days are over!

I applied for an apartment at 3033 Wilshire and what I experienced was beyond frustrating—it was downright insulting. I am a Section 8 applicant and a parent simply trying to secure a habitable home, yet UDR’s handling of my application felt like deliberate obstruction. • Rent Manipulation: The advertised rent was $4,367.41, but after submitting my paperwork, the rent was raised to $4,409.41—precisely above my Section 8 voucher limit. This looks like an intentional attempt to block voucher holders. • Deposit Mishandling: My $500 holding deposit, which should have been held for 14 days according to UDR’s own website, was instead held for two months, with no access to the lease or updates. Now they want to mail it to me, claiming I will receive it in 21 days—yet my fees were taken instantly, in under a minute. This is not only unfair but demonstrates bad faith. • Illegal Fees: I was charged credit check fees despite SB 267 (2024) prohibiting such charges for Section 8 applicants. • Blocked Communication & AI Denial: Emails and calls were ignored, portal access was restricted, and an AI agent initially denied my application with no human follow-up. Only after citing discrimination laws did anyone respond—and even then, there was no resolution. • Delayed & Mismanaged Processing: Nearly a full month of delays, inconsistent lease figures, and mismanagement almost cost me my voucher eligibility. UDR’s California representatives are legally obligated to follow California law, yet this experience shows disregard for both legal requirements and basic human decency. The way this was handled is unprofessional, discriminatory, and embarrassing for a company that claims to uphold Equal Housing standards. If you’re a Section 8 applicant, or anyone seeking a fair and honest leasing process—avoid UDR. They charge money fast but treat people with zero transparency, integrity, or respect. They eventually found a way to deny us as we would have been their first section 8 tenants. They had the nerve to mail my deposit back stating it would be received in 21 days . Not return it the same way they took it in 2 seconds. They were the worst, no one responds in a timely fashion. People just stat greedy until the tables turn.
