Just be aware the L&D rooms no longer have tubs. That means if you want to labor in the tub you can't!! They also only have two wireless monitors on the whole unit, so there's a chance you'll have to be hooked up the entire time. I think this hospital is great if you want to be rushed to a C-section or stuck in bed with an epidural. Definitely not unmedicated friendly. Also they say they offer nitrous oxide but be aware they don't. The virtual tour video definitely needs to be updated

Recently we had a medical emergency experience with Utah valley hospital ER and the staff of floor 9 of the Pederson tower.
We appreciate the prompt professional care from the emergency staff as well as the staff of the floor 9 Pederson tower. Many of the doctors and nurses went out of their way to assist us. However, the departure from the overnight stay left a sour taste to the otherwise good experience.
In every other recent experience with intermountain health offices where a prescription is written the question is always asked, "What pharmacy do you use?"
This question was NOT standard procedure for the Discharge instructions from the hospital.
The pharmacy was pre-selected without giving us, The patients, The opportunity to select which pharmacy was close to our home and convenient for us.
Instead the pre-selected pharmacy was chosen by the hospital. This made a very extremely difficult situation. The patient had a broken leg. The pain was significant. We needed to leave the hospital and go home as quickly as we could. But since we did not live close to the pharmacy chosen by the hospital we had to stop there on the way home.
We were one of 40 or 50 people in line at the pharmacy because of similar discharge orders it seemed. The patients sat for an hour at least in pain in the car waiting while the prescription was obtained.
We questioned the discharge nurse prior to leaving the hospital why that pharmacy was chosen without our knowledge or preference. We said this was really not okay before we left the hospital. It seemed challenging to demand a change in the pharmacy but that is what we should have done.
We wonder why our choice and preference was not asked or considered or reviewed prior to discharge from the hospital.
Why was the "What is your preferred pharmacy?" not a standard question like in every other intermountain health office or facility we have experienced?
We are sad and disappointed that this left the sour taste after an otherwise very good experience.
We really really really think this policy needs to be evaluated and changed immediately!
We do not live close to the hospital. It was not convenient and not good for the patient to sit a long time in pain waiting for a prescription on the way home.
Please evaluate this policy! Please do it soon so other patients don't have to experience what we did!

The place it self very nice and clean. But some of the staff shouldn't even be there. Went in on 11/27 to the ER. the ER nurse was amazing and the doctor aswell. Had to stay over night for a procedure the night nurse was amazing checking up on me his name was David i think I wish there were more like him. Waking up to the morning nurse was a whole different story McKensy was her name she was just not the right person that i need at the moment. Getting discharge with no information given just paper work highlighted on what i need to not drink or mix meds with anything else. As i was getting ready to leave she stripped down the bed mind you i was still in the hospital gown she stripped the whole bed down told me to wait to take me down to my car. Which she didn't even come to take me it was some else. I felt like i didn't matter at that moment like i was just no one. Nurses please just be nice you don't know what the other person is going thru.

Had such an incredible experience at this hospital. I delivered my first baby here, was rushed to an emergency c section. The staff was incredible. So supportive and helpful. They made our stay, traumatic as it was, relaxing and wonderful! 💗
