Katherine was super great as our tour guide. She knew the answers to all our questions and was very helpful and very friendly. The Vista apartments are very nice and my daughters first choice as of right now

Honestly, the only reason why this is getting 2 stars instead of 1, is because listening to all the drama students have to talk about with windows open is really comical. I don't even live here, I'm just an occasional guest. The upkeep and maintenance requests seems like a lottery with what I've gathered from my friends and others that live here. A request may get put into the system but you'd be lucky to get the request filled. When it is filled, and the request specifically asks *not* to enter the apartment while no one is home.. that request is constantly ignored. I'm not exactly sure if it's explicitly stated inside the leasing agreement that is common practice but I'm fairly certain landlords or maintenance workers cannot enter a tenants home without a 24-hour notice - this has been broken numerous times. On top of this... maintenance or the overall amenities of the apartment are lack luster and/or barely working. For starters, the ceiling fan doesn't work unless the light fixture is being held? I'm convinced a drunk toddler installed the fan with how it's constructed. The stove sets the fire alarm off when it's simply turned on with a pot of water, yet doesn't beep/sound when there is visible smoke from legitimate burnt food. The complex was also cheaply built given there is zero duct work to filter out stovetop smoke yet, there are two separate smoke detectors nearly right above. I'm no genius but this is only a setup for failure. I mean, not all college students know how to cook without trial and error... To go alongside the error part of cooking - the stove has no tile or protective barrier to the drywall. The drywall is mere inches from the stovetop and while I'm no structural engineer, it only takes someone with half a brain to realize this is a potential fire hazard in itself... I'm genuinely surprised this has been overlooked. At least build it with sheet metal alongside some sort of water-based paint... would be plenty to suffice. The overall security to the building is abysmal. Electronic keylocks built into the doors are rarely working. When they are fixed, 9/10 times they're broken again within weeks. I can't tell you how many external doors I've found unlocked, broken, or stuck open because the frame is so busted the door cannot properly close. If I was a parent, this would be one of the last places I would choose to house my child given the issues. Would be more of a headache than enjoyment.
