We rented an apartment in this complex from 2022-2024. We moved in from out of town, so we didn't have a chance to see the apartment beforehand. The staff member we spoke to about our unit said we would have an in-unit washer and dryer. We didn't.
Otherwise, the apartment was fine. The living room had a lot of natural light, which is about the only thing that made the apartment feel like it was worth the cost. The cabinetry is cheap particleboard, the paint chips and peels with the slightest provocation.
Rent was high when we moved in, and the landlords raised the rent as much as was legally possible each year. I'm sure it's exorbitant now. Over the course of our stay, management continued to find ways to add fees to our litany of monthly utility bills. During our second year, they started to charge residents for parking a second vehicle. And I can only imagine how much Greystar makes from charging everyone $20 a month to use a single property-wide dumpster for trash.
The walls of the apartments are very thin, and the appliances are old. We had to get our dishwasher and stove replaced very shortly after moving in, and the new ones were just *barely* better. Our downstairs neighbors played incredibly loud, bass-heavy music incessantly, often past midnight. We contacted management about this several times, and while they assured us they would talk with the other tenants, they did nothing about it.
Along with the late-night noise, the groundskeeping staff would often begin leaf-blowing the property before 7am. Super frustrating.
The laundry machines are shared. They don't work terribly well. Our clothes took on a strange smell after using them, and we would often have to run the dryer twice to get everything dry.
The leasing office bungled our move-out process, as well. We contacted them months in advance about our intention to leave, and they sent us a confirmation letter with a completely different date and an incorrect quote for our pro-rated rent for the final month.
Thankfully, the maintenance staff were prompt at responding to work requests and often very polite. This was important, because stuff just broke a lot. The plastic rails for the kitchen drawers would break, doors would stick, dishwashers leaked, drains clogged, the heaters wouldn't turn off. You get the picture.
On the whole, we got the sense that Greystar couldn't care less about the quality of life here. We were paying rent (and many more fees!) and that was all that mattered.
Please consider living somewhere else.
