After living here for 7 months, I would not recommend this apartment due to the cons outweighing the pros. I’ll start with the cons. Cons: - New build but lots of design flaws and many corners were cut during installation. Upon moving in, my “new” refrigerator was not cooling properly and all my food went bad on the day I moved in. I had to wait 2 weeks for them to fix it because they had to go through the warranty, and during this time, I had to use several vacant apartments to store my food in, which was a major inconvenience. My dishwasher was not completely installed upon move in. I’ve also had consistent problems with the water heater because it’s not ventilated properly. And because it’s located right next to the food pantry, my dry foods get heated and I have to store many of my dry goods in the refrigerator. A lot of the fixtures are cheap and were not installed correctly. Since I’ve lived here, basic fixtures like the toilet paper holder, towel holder, and shower head have become loose or fallen off and I consistently have to screw them back on. - Communication from property manager is poor. The previous manager Channing was amazing, she would communicate important things to residents and responded to emails quickly. I got emails from her weekly. The current manager does not respond to emails and does not communicate important info to residents. - Gates to parking garage are often broken. 90% of the time, only one side is open and vehicles have to maneuver their way into the small opening of the gate to access the garage. - Street parking is out of control and often blocks entrances. Cars will stay parked halfway blocking an entrance for days without ever been ticketed or towed. Most times when exiting, I can’t even look to see if the street is clear to turn onto it because there’s so many cars parked on the street. Many cars treat the streets like their own mechanic shop and will do repairs practically in the street. - Grass area outside is filled with dog poop and trash. There doesn’t seem to be a lot of enforcement when it comes to rules regarding trash and picking up after pets. - As is typical of Greystar communities, they nickel and dime you for everything. Be prepared to pay a lot more than what is told to you when you take a tour. I was initially told the average cost of utilities for a studio is $30, when in reality, it ranges from $50-$70 even without cold weather. This is apart from having to set up your own Xcel account and having to pay a $65 internet fee every month. Pros: - Apartment is quiet for the most part. - I like that packages are put into Amazon lockers and they don’t charge residents for use of lockers like most apartments do. - Having trash chutes instead of dumpsters is very convenient. Overall, this apartment is an example of why newer builds are not always better and why Greystar has such a bad reputation. After renting here, I will never rent with Greystar again.
