My 83-year-old mother was moving to Denver. I visited all the nearby apartment communities. From the moment I visited the rental office and asked about the demographics of the building, I should have run far away. The arrogant leasing agent was so full of himself, the tour I scheduled was delayed by 30 minutes, the unit we selected was dirty, and in disrepair, but promised to be addressed. We opted on signing the lease with a Jan 31 start-date to take advantage of a 6-week reduced fee. At the time my mom moved in on 2/20, the fireplace was still dirty, none of the identified items (including noted safety hazards) we pointed out on the 1/31 move-in sheet had been addressed. When I asked the leasing agent, he continued to promise they would happen. After multiple requests and me tracking down the maintenance staff, the safety issues were addressed. At one point I sent a letter to BROE's corporate office, with no response. My husband changed the air filter. We took care of a few other minor repairs so my mom was comfortable. Repeated requests were needed on-going to have anything addressed. Their maintenance staff was in transition (at least that was the excuse), they were trying to hire a building manager. We used the amenities my mom was paying for - the gym, the pool, hot tub, and dog wash. Another tennants' large SUV was overhanging my mom's assigned parking space. We asked that the issue be addressed. It wasn't. My elderly mom had to change parking spots because some young entitled renter with Vanderbilt license plates did not follow the rules and park inside the lines of her space, and the management company was inept at enforcing anything. The pool was always filthy. There were groups of loud people playing music. About 6 months into this hell, my mom found a place to buy around the corner and we moved her again. I would never recommend this apartment community.
