Landlord special
Absolutely not worth the price being charged when i first checked out this place the price i was told was $1425 plus whatever electricity is each month there was no mention of the other hidden fees you gotta pay for a tiny studio apartment and that there was a 10 day grace period after the 1st of the month to make rent before being hit with a late fee in reality i pay around $1550 after all the other ridiculous fees included and the grace period is 8 days so remember kids to get all things said in writing when you look for a place cuz thats how they hook you and then reel you in with the "incentives" such as reward points you can cash in for gift cards drafty doors due to the framing not being shimmed at all to correct size to seal sliding glass door up and front door the fridge is sat on a crudely made box made from 2x4 scrap wood the wall next to the fridge is unfinished just an open space the island counter top is held on by the hopes and dreams that this place is actually worth the 1500+ rent each month dont even get me started on the laundry room that place is absolutely disgusting theres mold all over the walls the machines are never cleaned and the machines are meant for individual residential places not meant for multiple people to be using them on a daily basis load after load and the price for those machines is ridiculous you pay $275 per load luckily theres a really good laundromat down the road i go to every other weekend wit great prices big shoutout to the laundry basket really the only thing the price to live here is justified by is the convenience of being close to campus which is good if your a college kid but isnt convenient for your average working class i go to work and come home and comin home on the weekends is always a pain

Jen is absolutely amazing! She made my sister and me feel right at home during our property tour. We had such a great experience and she really put us at ease throughout our apartment search. I don’t plan to move until August of next year, but I’m already excited to call Social West my home. Moving from out of state can be stressful, but I know when the time comes, the Social West team will handle our application with professionalism and care. Thank you, Social West team!

Nothing against the people who work in the lease office — they are really friendly and helpful. But I need to share my experience so that others can make a more informed decision.
I lived at Social West for one year in a studio apartment, and honestly I regretted it just two weeks after moving in. Before moving, I was out of state and could only do a virtual tour. The reality was quite different from what I expected.
1. No Air Conditioning:
I was told the apartment had air conditioning, but it did not. During the summer, living without AC was very uncomfortable.
2. Old Structure and High Price:
The apartments are old, with very basic finishes. I was paying around $1,550 for an old studio with no AC — which I think is too expensive for what you get.
3. Pest Problems:
I had issues with cockroaches during my stay, which was very unpleasant.
4. Move-Out Charges:
My biggest frustration came when I received a $500 charge on my move-out statement.
• When I moved in, the vinyl floor in the living room already had 1 or 2 damaged pieces.
• During my stay, I caused a small tear in the vinyl in the living room while moving a piece of furniture.
• I also damaged one piece of vinyl in the bathroom.
I fully accept responsibility for the damages I caused, but the amount I was charged felt like they were replacing all the flooring in the apartment at my expense. My responsibility is to pay for the damages I made — not to fund a full renovation for the next tenant. On top of that, the flooring was already old when I moved in, so it is not fair to charge me as if they were installing something brand new.
Despite all this, the place is quiet and well located. But my personal experience was negative, and if I had been able to visit in person before signing, I probably would not have rented here.

I’ll start with the good:
The location is amazing, especially if you need to be at CSU for work or classes. Easy walk, bike ride or drive over. Also around a bunch of food places, coffee shops, etc.
The staff at the leasing office are great. They’re always respectful, courteous, and answer any questions. You can tell they’re trying their best with what they got.
The overall studio is fine. Absolutely nothing special but it’s a fine place to live.
Now the not so great:
Facilities:
The fitness center has bare minimum. It’s okay. The worst part is the lack of lighting if you go at night. One side has a flickering light and the other side has a motion detecting light. Problem is, if you’re on the floor stretching, doing core or anything like that, it won’t detect you and it’ll go dark. If you’re on the other side with the flickering light, it’s dark at the other half due to no movement. So you’re just in a half lit fitness center with a barely working flickering light.
There are three paid, normal sized washing machines in the laundry room in my building. One has been out of order since I’ve moved in over a month ago so it’s really only two. I live by the laundry room and that door slams very hard at all hours of the day and night.
The studio itself:
The studio was not clean when I moved in. Staff was respectful and apologized and made sure to get a cleaning crew in by that weekend. Should have been done beforehand but at least they were quick to fix it. Like I said above, at least staff is great.
Everything is very low quality. Seems like it’s just thrown together with lower standards, maybe it’s because they market to college students and think they won’t care. My floor got a cut in it and underneath it, you can tell this floor was put right over the old floor and not properly adhered. I’m sure they’re going to charge me for flooring upon move out, and not take into consideration that it’s their low quality practice. I posted a photo for reference. Floor shouldn’t easily cut like that. Doors/cabinet hinges are loose, only one outlet in kitchen area and one of the plugs is taken by the fridge. So if you have more than one other appliance, you’ll need to run an extension cord across the entire apartment to the opposite wall. No dishwasher, window or AC in this studio. You definitely get (or don’t get) what you pay for.
Posting some photos of the studio since none are available on the website. The studio layout is doable and overall seems nice from the outside looking in until you start noticing the low quality and low effort put into these apartments. Overall it’s just okay and simply a place to live while in school.
