I was honestly so excited to tour a property downtown, and it ended up being such a disappointing experience. When I walked in, the greeting I received wasn’t very welcoming at all. Instead, I was immediately told that they don’t accept walk-ins and that tours are appointment only. The way it was said felt pretty dismissive and not very guest-friendly. What made it even more surprising is that I’m also in the property management industry, and in most cases walk-ins are welcomed or at least accommodated when possible. First impressions are such a big part of leasing, so the interaction really caught me off guard. It was also a Thursday at around 2:00 PM and the office was completely empty, which made it feel even more disappointing. We were genuinely interested and eager to potentially move in this month, so it felt like a missed opportunity on both sides. I walked in excited to see the community, but left feeling pretty discouraged by the lack of hospitality. A warm greeting and a little flexibility can really make all the difference when someone is excited and ready to tour.

I’ve experienced MAJOR water damage here twice- in December 2022 and again in January 2026 - due to the freezing emergency sprinkler pipe. The repeated nature of these events is extremely concerning, considering it happened twice in the exact same spot. The first incident in December 2022, the sprinkler pipe burst and my walls were leaking/filling with a green and brown fluid. I had buckets to catch the leaking water as well that I had to change out every two hours. See the attached photos. I went through this for weeks. Every time that it rained for a few months after, my living room would have a puddle of water near the sliding door. There was a strange musty odor and mildew smell as well. None of the dry wall was replaced and was only cosmetically repaired. The only portion that was replaced was a part of the ceiling. In January 2026, the emergency sprinkler line froze again and burst in the living room. This time was MUCH WORSE. The water lines were off in 2022 and they were on fire watch. This time, the lines were on. Unfortunately, I knew what to do after the first flood. I grabbed a broom, swept water off the balcony, moved furniture out of the way, and bordered up the bedroom and bathroom with towels to prevent more damage. The fire department was concerned when they arrived that this was the second time it happened and that it appeared to have insufficient insulation near the sprinkler line. All of this SHOULD have been fixed the first time, but instead I was the only unit AGAIN to have this damage. Multiple items of mine have began to grow mold since the flooding and had to be replaced. Overall, this was and still is an extremely stressful situation. Please be careful and ask before you sign your lease if any pipes have burst in your unit prior. I have loved living here the past four years, but the lack of concern to maintaining and fixing these issues in the unit have given me the decision to not renew my lease here in the future. I attached both 2022 and 2026 photos from the flooding.
