Indiana State University Housing Requirements
Freshman Live-On Requirement
Indiana State University requires all first-year students who have graduated from a high school more than 30 miles from campus to live in university residence halls during their first academic year. Students who commute from a permanent home within 30 miles are exempt from this requirement.
Off-Campus Eligibility
Students who have completed at least one academic year at ISU or who are 21 years of age or older are eligible to live off campus without an exception request. Transfer students with 30 or more credit hours are also generally permitted to live off campus from their first semester.
