Cookie Policy
This policy lists every cookie and similar technology findmyplace.co (My Place LLC — "we", "our", "us") stores on your device, what each one is for, and how long it lasts. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains the wider picture of how we handle personal information.
Your choices
When you first visit, we ask what you want to allow. You can change that decision at any time — select Manage Cookies in the site footer, and a panel opens where you can turn each category on or off. Your choice is remembered for 12 months, and we will ask again if what we collect materially changes.
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat that as an opt-out and turn off analytics and personalization automatically. You can still deliberately turn them back on through the preferences panel if you want to.
Turning a category off does not delete cookies already stored by that category. You can clear those through your browser’s own settings.
Regional defaults, stated plainly
Our defaults are not the same everywhere, and you should know which one applies to you.
- In the EU, the UK, the EEA and Switzerland — and anywhere we cannot determine your country: analytics and personalization are off until you turn them on. Nothing beyond the strictly necessary cookies below is set before you choose.
- In the United States and elsewhere: analytics and personalization are on by default, so those cookies may be set on your first page view, before you make a choice. The banner still appears, and you can switch them off at any time.
Strictly necessary
These make the site work. They cannot be switched off, and they are set whatever you choose.
- fmp_consent — remembers your cookie choices, when you made them, and whether a Global Privacy Control signal was present. 12 months.
- sb-…-auth-token (and a short-lived -code-verifier during sign-in) — keeps you signed in. Set by Supabase, our authentication provider; the exact name includes our project identifier. Lifetime is managed by Supabase and refreshes as you use the site.
- fmp_vid — a random ID so we can count a property view once, stop spam and abuse of our contact forms, and understand how visitors use the site. If you send an inquiry or create an account, it’s stored with that record. 30 days.
- fmp_gbp_oauth_state — a one-time security value while a landlord connects their Google Business Profile, to prevent request forgery. 10 minutes.
- fmp_impersonation — set only when a member of our support team is viewing the site as your account to help with an issue. 30 minutes.
Analytics
These help us see where people get stuck so we can fix it. You can turn them off.
- ph_…_posthog — PostHog, our product analytics provider. Records which pages and searches you use, and includes session replay: a reconstruction of your visit, including cursor movement and clicks. What you type into form fields is masked. Text already displayed on the page is part of the replay. Stored as both a cookie and browser storage; PostHog’s default lifetime is 12 months.
- _clck — Microsoft Clarity, which records session replay and click heatmaps: a reconstruction of your visit, including cursor movement, scrolling and clicks. What you type into form fields is masked. Text already displayed on the page is part of the replay. This cookie ties your repeat visits to a single Clarity identifier. Microsoft’s published lifetime is 1 year.
- _clsk — Microsoft Clarity. Groups the pages you view in one visit into a single recording. Microsoft’s published lifetime is 1 day.
- _ga, _ga_…, _gid — Google Analytics. Measures traffic and how people move through the site. Google’s published lifetimes are 2 years for _ga and _ga_…, and 24 hours for _gid.
Personalization
These help us show you places you are more likely to want, and reach you on other sites. You can turn them off.
- _gcl_au and other Google Tag Manager cookies — Tag Manager loads our marketing tags. The specific cookies depend on which tags are active. Google’s published lifetime for _gcl_au is 90 days.
- _fbp, _fbc — the Meta Pixel. This is genuine cross-site advertising: Meta receives the page you viewed, your IP address and browser, and uses it for its own ad targeting as an independent controller. Meta’s published lifetime is 90 days.
- __kla_id — Klaviyo, our email platform. Links your on-site activity to your email profile so our messages are relevant. Klaviyo’s published lifetime is 2 years.
Cookies that run whatever you choose
A few third parties are not part of the categories above, because they are either security measures or only load when you actively use a feature. We are listing them so the picture is complete.
- _GRECAPTCHA — Google reCAPTCHA, which scores form submissions to block spam and bots. Loads when you submit a form, not on every page. Google’s published lifetime is 6 months.
- g_state and Google account cookies — set by Google Sign-In when the sign-in prompt is shown.
- __stripe_mid, __stripe_sid — Stripe, our payment processor, for payment fraud prevention. Loads only on pages where you are paying. Stripe’s published lifetimes are 1 year and 30 minutes.
- Mapbox — stores map usage data in your browser to render maps on listing pages.
Other storage on your device
Some things we keep are not cookies but browser storage, which behaves similarly. These stay on your device and are never sent to a third party. They include your last search filters, an unfinished review or contract form so a page refresh does not lose your work, banners you have dismissed, and your unread message count so it appears instantly. Most are cleared when you close the tab.
How long these last
Where a cookie is ours, the duration above is exact. Where a cookie is set by another company, the duration is that provider’s published default — they control it and can change it. Clearing cookies in your browser removes all of them, including your saved preferences, which means we will ask you again on your next visit.
Who receives what
The companies named above act as our subprocessors, except Meta, Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, which also use what they receive for their own purposes. A full register of the third parties we work with, what each receives, and the agreements we hold with them is maintained internally and available on request.
Changes
We will update this page whenever we add, remove, or change what we store. If the change is material we will ask for your choice again rather than assume the previous one still applies.
