I would strongly encourage prospective residents to carefully consider other housing options before choosing this apartment complex. I lived here for two years, and unfortunately my experience was consistently disappointing.
On several occasions when I contacted staff regarding issues such as ongoing noise disturbances and a vandalism incident where my door was egged, I was advised to contact university police rather than receiving assistance from management. While I understand certain situations may require law enforcement involvement, I felt there was very little support or effort from the management team to help resolve resident concerns.
Additionally, when I raised safety concerns and requested the possibility of moving to another unit, I was informed that I would be required to pay additional fees. The parking garage gate was also frequently left open, which diminished the sense of security for residents.
When my brother moved into the unit, it appeared that the room had not been properly cleaned. There was wax residue on the desk and sticky residue on the walls, likely from previous indoor smoking. The hallways also regularly smelled of marijuana.
Overall, I did not feel that the level of maintenance, cleanliness, or resident support met reasonable expectations, and I would recommend that others explore alternative apartment communities before committing to a lease here.

If you care about your kids or your own sanity don't bother with this place. Lived here for almost 4 years and it was horrendous. Any low star reviewed post here is telling the truth. Staff is unqualified and incompetent from high to low levels, infrastructure and services are low quality, and pray you don't move in alone to be subjected to the ridiculous people they allow to live here even for a college students standards. I've been assaulted by mentally ill people that the staff let live here with no evaluation of mental state, they just want profit. LOOK ELSEWHERE I BEG YOU ALL!

The Degree Student Housing (Las Vegas) — Believe the Bad Reviews
If you’ve been reading all the negative reviews and wondering, “Is it really that bad?” — yes. It is. Not everybody is wrong. What people are complaining about online is exactly what you get when you live here.
1. Safety is a real issue.
The location is sketchy, and the “security” is basically for show. Gates don’t always work, people who don’t live there get in, and management doesn’t treat it like a priority. You will not feel secure coming and going.
2. Security/measures are awful.
Cameras that don’t seem to help, no real enforcement, and staff that tell you to “submit something online” instead of actually addressing it. For a student property, that’s ridiculous.
3. Maintenance is atrocious.
Things are broken when you move in, and when you put in work orders, they take forever or don’t get done correctly. AC, appliances, basic repairs — all delayed. This is not a one-off; tons of other reviews say the same thing… because it keeps happening.
4. Constant noise, no real management control.
Loud residents, hallways, parties, late-night noise — and “quiet hours” are a joke. Management knows and does nothing.
5. The move-out scam is very real.
This is the part everyone warns you about. You move in to stuff that isn’t clean or is already damaged. You report it. They don’t fix it. Then when you move out, they bill you for the same issues. It’s a business model for them — squeeze students with cleaning/damage charges.
6. Management doesn’t listen.
The attitude is: pay your rent and be quiet. If you bring up real concerns, they deflect or hide behind “policy.”
Bottom line:
There are a lot of bad reviews about The Degree because people actually lived it. That many residents don’t all make up the same problems. If you’re a student or parent looking for safe, responsive, honest housing in Vegas — look at other properties first. You can do better than this place.

Every staff member, except for the cleaning and repair staff, are a bunch of money hungry liars. Eliza, or whatever her name is, is the worst of them all. They are currently trying to make my parents pay $777 in bleach stains from my old unit that I am not responsible for. When I asked for proof that the bleach stains were my fault, they said their records show that the room was “professionally cleaned.” Which is a lie because the carpet and bathroom floors were still dirty when I first moved in. The front desk employees act clueless when you ask them questions about the leasing agreement and contract. I asked for a trash can lid for my new unit multiple times and the employees kept lying about what to do to get a new one. Do not waste your time here. The front staff are useless and Eliza likes to send snarky emails.

I have my daughter at the degree and it started nice... but then they had an incident with the AC, it leaked turned into mold and we are going within a month of very little progress. Yes after 3 weeks and due to another apartment their having the same mold issue they were offered another room, but when you walk in... I felt like i was looking into a horror prop dept. This person had stuff all over the apartment!! how do you charge so much for each unit but yet fail to fix them in a timely manner. We are exactly one month into this and I am hoping to see a credit on next months rent for these 4 students. This is not healthy, its unsanitary. They haven't been able to cook and have been wasting double the money just eating out everyday. Communication is not the best either.
