I toured this apartment this month and here’s my review based off true experience. WREN was my first choice before the tour but the leasing agent Helena made the experience so bad. This apt management definitely lacks professionalism. When I arrived i was told they put my appointment at 5pm but in the morning of that day I actually called to confirm my tour time is 3pm. Helena stared at me like I really did something that’s so wrong when I told her my time was at 3, and her attitude throughout the tour was bad and very arrogant as well, making me feel that she doesn’t care about leasing their units out.
When I was at the front desk, one current resident came asking about parking and she left me there to deal with that matter, not showing any respect. During the tour, she was also chatting about something with the concierge staff and they couldn’t stop talking even the elevator was about to close and they held the door to continue their convo, leaving me standing in the elevator.
Joshua, the other leasing agent, had better attitude but during the whole tour he was in a huge rush and walked extremely fast. He did better job introducing the amenities though.
It’s also so hard to reach the leasing office through call. 7/10 times I called and no one was there to pick up the phone.
The build of the apartment doesn’t look very good from inside too.
Overall they made me feel they don’t care and I had very bad experience. I can’t imagine how worse their attitude will be if I sign a lease there.

If I could give zero stars, I would.
This is by far the most unprofessional and unresponsive leasing office I have ever dealt with — especially Melyssa and the Black manager who works with her.
Incident 1 – My scooter stolen in the bike room
I lost a scooter in the bike room and immediately reported it to the front desk, security, and the leasing office. They told me they would “look into it.” After that, I never heard back again. No updates, no follow-ups, nothing. It felt like they simply didn’t care.
Incident 2 – My golf bag stolen in the garage
I lost a golf bag in the garage within 10 minutes, and again I reported it right away. Over the next two weeks, I went to the leasing office five times asking for help and updates. The final response I got after all this time was literally:
“We didn’t find anything.”
No explanation, no effort, no accountability.
The attitude from the leasing office — especially from Melyssa and that manager — is consistently dismissive and careless. They don’t follow up, don’t take responsibility, and don’t seem to care about residents’ safety or property at all.
If you value security, communication, or basic professionalism, think twice before moving here.

I’ve been living at The Wren for about eight years (maybe even longer!), and after living in three different buildings in DTLA over the past 20 years, this is by far my favorite.
The management, maintenance team, concierge, and cleaning staff are all incredibly kind and always get things done. It truly feels like home here—like being around family. I feel safe, comfortable, and genuinely cared for at The Wren.
The amenities are great, especially the rooftop area! And as someone with a pet business, I absolutely love the two dog parks. They’ve been such a bonus for me and my clients.
Overall, I plan to stay here as long as I can. It’s been nothing short of amazing!

I’ve lived in 8 different apartments on both the East and West Coast. Every place had pros and cons, but WREN is, without question, the WORST building I have ever lived in.
First, the management team is all talk and no action. You will never get a response if you contact them about anything. On the rare occasion you manage to reach someone, they’ll promise to “get back to you today” and then disappear completely. When they finally reappear, they’ll find the most ridiculous excuses possible and blame you for their own incompetence. They seem to take pride in ignoring residents and feeding them empty promises. Even when they’re physically in the office, they’ll deliberately ignore your calls, that’s why you can never reach them. Honestly, I wish my job were as easy as theirs. Especially Melyssa, she is always so arrogant and indifferent to your concerns, even rolling her eyes when talking in person. I truly feel sorry for her because she has to do a job she hates so much.
Second, the building’s sound insulation is unbelievably bad. Living here feels like living inside someone else’s unit. You can hear everything: your neighbors’ TV, conversations, footsteps, and every other noise you never asked to be part of. If your neighbor hadn't learned to walk on their feet instead of their heels during human evolution, good luck, because you’ll experience vibrations straight through your skull.
Third, this building will squeeze every possible dollar out of you. It feels like every policy, every fee, every unexplained charge is designed to empty your pockets. They act as if every staff member needs to survive off whatever extra money they can extract from residents.
This is by far the most chaotic and mismanaged apartment I’ve ever encountered. If you choose to live here, I can almost guarantee it will become the source of endless stress. Everyone I know who has lived here has ended up dealing with disputes or legal issues with the apartment.
And one more thing: your safety means absolutely nothing to them. If you have a serious issue with a neighbor: say, someone threatening you, they’ll pretend to “look into it” and then promptly ignore you. This building has even had serious incidents in the past, yet management provided zero transparency or reassurance to concerned residents. Their indifference is genuinely alarming.
If you’re considering moving into WREN, all I can say is: good luck. You’ll need it.

I've lived here for almost 5 years now, and overall, it's been a great experience. I personally haven’t had any issues with maintenance — any minor requests I’ve made were always handled quickly and efficiently.
The building is well-maintained, and the amenities are enjoyable to use and consistently clean for the very most part. I really appreciate that staff puts in the effort to organize community events from time to time, like movie nights, pool gatherings, and treats for holidays like Halloween, Mother’s Day, and Valentine’s Day, etc. It adds a nice personal touch and helps foster a sense of community.
Helena from the leasing office has been incredibly welcoming and kind since the day I first toured the property. She’s always been helpful with any questions or concerns and responds promptly and professionally. Tammy at the concierge is also wonderful — always warm, helpful, and kind to everyone she interacts with.
Overall, my experience here has honestly been really great so far, for the most part. I would definitely recommend.
