We have lived here for over a year now and it has been a great experience. Our neighbors have always been friendly, the maintenance team is always on top of things (Dale especially is always on top of things and absolutely awesome!), and management are some of the nicest people I've ever rented under. I can't say enough good things about Jordan especially, she has always been an absolute rockstar. The location is good as well, parking can be kind of a headache sometimes if you work nights somewhere but we also live in the city so it's expected. I have no complaints with Avida and the staff, also for the price it's almost a steal if you are looking for something that is in the city but the complex actually cares about you.

Updated review after moving out: Everything was the cheapest possible, from the appliances to the finishes to the hardware to the cleaning of the walk up stairwells. There was vomit for months on the stairs which is probably still there. The standards at the sister properties, the low income apartments Brickgate were even lower than Avida’s somehow. The workers drove broken down golf carts without roofs at Brickgate. It gives the impression that Highmark Residential is OK being a slum lord and keeping people in poverty. The decision to put in the newly finished senior apartments, with no parking garage whatsoever, is just cruel to the community and makes the entire neighborhood unlivable. No one can visit. No one can patronize the businesses that are supposed to be on the first level as per zoning. We had to create a laundry list of fixes to the apartment before we could move in. The apartments need to be completely gutted and renovated if that is truly needed not just paint and resurface the counter tops. The high pile carpet was unsanitary and took months and 2 professional carpet cleaners for dust not to come out. Pigeon poo covered railings so elderly people put their hands in it trying to climb the stairs. A Highmark employee from another location in the valley stated that they couldn’t pay him enough to work at Avida. I feel bad for the team that has to make the most with the serious lack of investment and care from Highmark corporate. Original review: Terrible, don’t bother. Spent months trying to clean the apartment after move in to get it in a livable condition. Still, dust flies and coats everything daily. If you value your health, do not live here. Also, it is clear Highmark Residential does not care whatsoever about this property or the employees working here and it is obvious. The parking is absolutely outrageous, and then the company decided to build another building with the lowest possible building materials with no parking garage, only a little tiny lot for a whole new building in an already congested area. They don’t care, they get a sweet kick back deal from Swift Towing towing their residents. Stay away!
