I've lived here for over a year and I can say it used to be a nice experience back when it was broadstone. After purchase from Chamberlin + associates, not so nice anymore. It's hard to get a person in the front to help. Every time I've gone up to the leasing office there is nobody there. All the amenities seem to be in disarray. There is no coffee machine, not sure if we're ever getting that back. Trash cans are being removed and the dumpster area is always overflowing with trash. There is no valet trash and although it's nice not to have that fee, the hallways are a mess with stains of people taking their own trash and it leaking. There isn't enough guest parking so a lot of people park in the dirt lot at the rear of the community. Speaking of parking they make everyone pay $75 for it, pretty ridiculous if you ask me especially since they use to offer free parking. Paying online now has a fee attached to it. Why do I have to pay to pay my rent? Pool/hot tub hasn't been cleaned in a while, they're looking pretty neglected. The vending machine in the gym was empty last time I went. All the fire pits weren't working last time I tried to use one. The fob readers are supposed to work with your phone but that works like 50% of the time so sometimes I'm getting locked out. Package delivery is hit or miss. I suppose depends if it's a new person or not but sometimes your package won't be in the locker or in the package room cause the delivery person doesn't know what to do. And thin walls in the apartments. When my neighbors walk above me I can hear every wood joint creak as they walk across. And I think they're just walking normally. I know their favorite song cause I hear them play it every morning. And again, it's not excessive volume. Just thin walls.... I love my apartment (aside from the thin walls) just the community seems to be going downhill.

Very nice place to live . Great location in central Phoenix with so many good options close by to walk to . Amenities are gorgeous main reason we moved in here . The maintence team is responsive not rapid but they respond. The cleaning ladies here are so sweet and keep the amenities spotless and always love talking to them . We used to have an espresso machine but it broke and they never fixed it or give a timeline on it feels like they just letting it get swept under the rug till people forget. Apartment itself is very nice we got a discounted rate and with the discount rate it’s way worth I’m not sure if I would pay to live here with their current market prices seems too expensive . Lots of diverse ages live here too which is cool

Onyx Uptown is a beautiful place to live~ the people that work here are what makes it a special community. Ruperta, Genesis, Brad, Andrea, Jessica and the rest of the staff are kind, attentive and hard working. I am very grateful for the team here, providing advice, assistance and a lovely atmosphere.

Avoid This Apartment Complex – Serious Safety, Cleanliness, and Management Issues Living here has been an extremely negative experience, and I strongly urge others to consider safer, better-managed alternatives. From ongoing safety concerns to poor maintenance and unresponsive management, this place has been nothing short of a nightmare. The property is consistently neglected, and common areas are often chaotic. The pool area is a constant source of noise and disorder. Loud music, often played late into the night, along with littering from alcohol containers, makes the space uninviting and unsanitary. Teenagers frequently run around barefoot and unsupervised, contributing to the lack of order. Noise at night is a major problem, with music blaring at all hours, sometimes even at 1–2 a.m., making it incredibly difficult to get a good night’s sleep. The halls and parking garage often smell strongly of marijuana, further contributing to the discomfort of living here. Cleanliness and maintenance are unacceptable. The carpets in the hallways have never been cleaned since I moved in, and they are visibly dirty and stained. The hallways often smell like dog urine, making it unpleasant to walk through. The elevator is also filthy and poorly maintained. I’ve had multiple pest issues, including cockroaches and grasshoppers inside my apartment, and the response from staff has been dismissive at best. Additionally, I’ve had packages stolen on two separate occasions despite taking steps to protect them. Maintenance staff regularly enters apartments without permission, without any prior notice, which is a serious violation of privacy and tenant rights. Safety is one of the most concerning issues. Someone recently attempted to tamper with my door handle and stared through my peephole for several minutes. I had to confront them verbally to make them leave, and it left me feeling unsafe in my own home. The atmosphere here is tense and uncomfortable. I’ve experienced hostile behavior from other tenants, including being stereotyped and glared at in shared spaces like the pool. This is not a welcoming or respectful community. Despite multiple attempts to raise my concerns with the leasing office, they have taken no meaningful action. Large parties, some of them disruptive college gatherings, are allowed to happen with no consequences for those responsible. One party had over 100 people, and it was so out of control that police helicopters circled above the complex. There was also a major law enforcement incident where police and a SWAT team kicked down a door on the 3rd floor for a sex trafficking case. The leasing office has repeatedly lied to tenants about what happened, claiming it was just someone “on the run,” despite multiple witnesses to the raid. Chamberlain + Associates, the property management company, will do anything to keep your security deposit and even try to charge you extra money after you move out. Take pictures and document everything before you move in, because they will use any excuse to claim damage that was already there. Incident Updates: April 18: Crime Scene Unit and two undercover police officers were on-site for the entire day. June 7: Heard a woman screaming on the 5th floor around 1:30 a.m. It was deeply unsettling and sounded potentially serious. I locked my doors and didn’t feel safe enough to investigate or call for help, which says a lot about the atmosphere here. August 10: Detectives and cops knocked on my door about a welfare check of my neighbors. This is absolutely not a place to raise a family or feel secure in your home. Please don’t make the mistake of signing a long lease here—I deeply regret mine and will not be renewing.

Onyx Uptown is an amazing community with superb management. The neighbors are friendly and the management team is top tier. My Fiancee owns a coffee business (Love Bean and Soul) that was hired to do one of the community events at Onyx and the manager, Jessica, made it a 10/10 experience for both my fiancee and the community. I would highly recommend this community to anyone that loves community.
