The staff at Essex is absolutely amazing! The building is great, secure, and sits quietly in a great part of Portland. The office staff has gone above and beyond assisting with our move from the East Coast and glad we found a “home” there. So far, the service team moved quickly to fix any small issues in the apartment. 5 stars isn’t enough!

Mario is incredibly warm, professional, and extremely capable in all he does to fix anything in our apartment. His coworker, Eddie, is also very friendly and helpful in working alongside Mario. What really makes this place stand out is the maintenance team—especially Mario. Every apartment needs fixes here and there, and over the years, Mario has been amazing. He’s quick, reliable, always in a good mood, and gets the job done right. You can tell he actually cares about what he does, and that goes a long way. We’re lucky to live somewhere that values and hires hardworking, friendly people like Mario.

I’ve been living in Prometheus properties for almost 10 years now and have been in Essex for 5 or 6. This is a great building… they are on top of it, the current team has elevated the building back to its former glory (Pre-Covid). We have routine fire inspections and the staff communicates whenever there are issues or events. Any issues regarding my apartment or the building are dealt with promptly and the lobby and shared spaces are always clean and presentable. Katie is a shining star and extremely pleasant to work with. Mario from the maintenance team does a phenomenal job and is always super cool. I’m a very happy resident and it’s worth mentioning that we have underground parking, which is a nice cherry on top.

What can’t I say about Essex House? Truly one of the best apartment experiences I’ve ever had! I lived in the building for 3 years and never had an issue. The office and maintenance were always prompt with requests. The gym in the building has a sauna which was an amenity that truly came in handy. It’s a very safe building with secure access so I never felt unsafe. The location is in perfect walking distance to everything Downtown Portland has to offer. Please consider this place when you’re looking for an apartment. Essex House truly was home and the only reason I didn’t renew is because I’m moving for work. This place is one of the best spots in Portland.
