DO NOT LIVE HERE.
While the building looks attractive on the outside, the reality of living here is completely different. Ongoing security failures and a total lack of meaningful action from ownership have made this an unsafe place to live. The on-site staff are kind and try their best, but they are clearly powerless under the management company.
Break-ins are constant. Cars and storage units in the parking garage are repeatedly targeted, yet there are no security cameras installed there. At one point, people were living in our storage unit for multiple days after cutting our lock off and replacing it with their own. They left behind heroin needles and other drug paraphernalia rendering the stuff they didn't steal completely useless.
Unauthorized individuals have also been found living in building bathrooms. Hallways frequently reek of cigarette and hard drug smoke, and we recently encountered someone smoking crack in the lobby. As residents, we no longer feel safe using the common areas or the garage and I have to escort my partner to their car for them to feel safe.
There are also indoor storage units on each floor, and our neighbors who use them have reported even those have been repeatedly burglarized.
Package theft is another major issue. If a delivery isn’t placed directly into a mailbox or Amazon locker (which often doesn’t happen), it will almost certainly be stolen. We’ve lost hundreds of dollars’ worth of packages from the mailroom. Bikes have also been stolen from the bike locker.
Despite repeated incidents and complaints over the past two years, ownership has failed to implement basic security measures. A nice-looking building means nothing when residents don’t feel safe in their own home.

This a great place! The leasing agents and maintenance crew are very helpful and professional. I would recommend this place to anyone. I've had a great experience so far😂, and I'm very, very happy to live here!

Applied for apartment for a move from Nevada to Portland. After we received approval we did not hear back for a week. I started emailing and calling the rental office with no replies. This made it a challenge as I was trying to arrange flights, uhaul rentals, etc... I finally had my son go to the property and inquire what was happening. He was told that the apartment we had applied for had an issue with the current tenants not moving out. That would have been good information for the prop. mngr to relay to us, which they did not so we were in limbo for over a week. Thankfully our son viewed another aprtment and we took it. Again another week went by with no lease or confirmation that we in fact secured the apartment, even after numerous emails and phone calls. We finally received a lease at 6pm the night before we were scheduled to leave Nevada. We were also misinformed on numerous items. We were told we had to reserve an elevator for move in, yet again we could not reserve it as no one would reply to our emails or phone calls. Once we arrived, things went much smoother, although we were not offered a tour of the building and all it's amenities. The apartment is beautiful, large and bright. The parking garage is secure although loud and the motion sensor lights are daunting as it is pretty dark in there. Neighbors are kind and friendly. Location is great! Outdoor space is lovely. Location is awesome and walking distance to Fred Meyer grocery which has EVERYTHING!

I am looking for a studio for my son and have had five recent tours. This was probably my best experience. Erin was pleasant, knowledgeable and thorough. She showed me all the amenities Sandy Lofts had to offer—and there are many. She answered all my questions and her warmth and professionalism were exceptional. This building is at the top of my son’s list, not just because of the building (which is great), but because of the excellence of yesterday’s tour.

I’ve been a resident for two years. I’m not sure why the reviews lately are so bad, because since Green Lief Sandy Lofts took over the building and bought out Fairfield, things have been really good. When I contact the office, they are actually in the office and are approachable and kind when people come in. In the two years I’ve lived here I’ve never had a package stolen. The building is cleaned everyday, they even installed a coffee machine downstairs and it’s delish! The communication with the apartments is timely, the online portal actually works and is awesome. The maintenance men are very helpful, quick to respond and respectful.
The utilities are pretty expensive with an overly high rent on top for the square footage provided, BUT that’s a given in Portland and for the cool amenities ( app controlled fire pit, business office with free printer, dog potty area, etc) it’s worth it to find a place you actually like that feels like home with a nice community. The neighborhood is pleasant, there’s a park across the street with an awesome dog owner community and the coffee at seven virtues and Sandy cafe across the street are amazing as well are dog friendly. 10/10 recommend.
