My 19-year-old son was a resident of this apartment for a year and spoke very highly of the building and community. I’m adding my own positive comments, rating the Cameron at a five out of five stars, because of the great experience with move out and lease termination. The property manager, Nancy, was superb! She was friendly and helpful throughout the process. Importantly, she was on top of all the details and the few times I didn’t reach her directly, she would call back very promptly. She helped me and my son through the process of ending his great stay and his move out of the city. A move-out experience can be quite a pain, but Nancy‘s help and customer service totally validated my son’s positive comments about the property.

I've been a building resident for almost 3 years, and can't thank the staff leasing consultant Nancy Velasco and the maintenance team enough for caring about the building, as well as occupant safety and convenience. Under Nancy's management, things improved a lot with utilities maintenance and trash/recycle removal, timely notifications going out about needed testing and maintenance of fire systems, plumbing, and other infrastructure. Having her here and interacting with her adds a lot to the building appeal, convenient location and abundant transportation options, and good neighbors, and it's my pleasure to express and extend my thanks to her and staff.

I’ve been living here for about a month and overall my experience has been very good! Worth the price for sure. This was one of the cheaper buildings in downtown and its units had much bigger square footage than other buildings. So far I am happy with my choice and would recommend if you are looking for a no-fluff building that offers all the basics for a comfortable living experience.
Pros:
1. The staff is very friendly! I have mostly dealt with Nancy Velasco, and she’s fantastic. She is welcoming, receptive, and genuinely cares about the residents and their well-being. She has always been happy to answer all my questions and has tried her best to find ways to accommodate my needs. Any cons about the place are not at all her fault as she tried her best to fix them or compensate for them.
2. The building is generally clean and functional at all times. There are two elevators, a small gym with the basic equipment, a cute little courtyard with tables, bike storage, and a mail room. The building has one entrance that is accessible only by FOB and so are the stairwells and elevators to the upstairs floors, which makes me feel very safe.
3. The apartments are clean and functional. Love having the carpeting in the bedroom, the large windows, in-unit washer/dryer, and spacious floor plan. The floors and walls are pretty thick so I can’t hear the neighbors much. There is a lot of storage space and cabinets, which is really nice.
4. The location is very convenient if you want downtown to be accessible to you. Safeway is only a block away, there are restaurants and coffee shops in walking distance, public transportation nearby, and there is a city bike rental station right outside.
5. So far my neighbors have been polite and respectful so no problems there. Amazon packages are delivered to my front door and so far no issues with stolen packages.
Cons
1. The AC in my unit (not centralized) is insufficient for the space and doesn’t actually cool the place down. The windows don’t open fully so air circulation / temperature control isn’t always great and I need to keep the windows open most of the day. Which brings me to—
2. Since we’re in downtown, it can get pretty noisy. It’s not crowded, but there’s yelling on the streets now and then and people around drive very loud vehicles (you know the ones I’m talking about). I’m a heavy sleeper so it’s generally fine, and if you keep windows closed it’s not bad. That said, I have not felt unsafe outside. There are houseless people, but that is what downtowns are generally like and they are generally not a threat.
3. Just a personal thing, but my unit has the front door opening into the kitchen and I wish there was a little more space for shoes so I didn’t have to stash them where I do, but nothing the building can do about that.
4. Maintenance has been slow but they do come through as quickly as they can, and that’s not Nancy’s or the staff’s fault—it’s just been difficult to get the appropriate staff. Nancy has been going above and beyond to try and make things smooth for tenants though!
5. Moving in was a hassle only because I ordered a moving truck, and there was no designated space for them to park and unload as the building doesn’t have a garage. You’ll need to reserve street parking with the city a couple weeks in advance. But if you are driving or bringing a uhaul, management has an area in the back where you unload (it’s normally reserved for maintenance). The elevators are also equipped for moving and otherwise the moving process was smooth. Nancy was helpful and easy to reach throughout the process.

I lived here for 2 years. When I moved in, the pandemic hit so it took the maintenance team a while to come and check for my maintenance request, but I did not mind much to be honest. For instance, if my washer was not working, they gave me a key to another apt to use the washer. After the pandemic, my maintenance request was solved super quickly. Also FYI, hot water runs great!
The staff is super friendly. I feel safe here. Homeless is an issue, but please it is the city issue. I never got attacked or harassed by the homeless. The staff cannot do anything about it because it is, again, not their fault if you see the homeless in the street.
Also why is it weird/an issue if they hang out with the residents? I see nothing abnormal here.
I did have some issues on noises from my next door neighbor. He moved in and then was playing music very loud at 2AM. The leasing office came up and talked to him. The security team they hired for the building safety came and knocked on his door several times at night when I reported him. So I absolutely understand that the management and security teams were trying their best.
Overall, I had a good experience living here. It is a good price with good staff compared to other apts in Downtown Portland. I highly recommend!

I lived there for two years and the side stairwell exit constantly smelled like urine. Management office closes early often and takes multiple emails to get a response. You are apparently responsible for your apartment being completely move in ready for the next person so if you don't leave your space sparkling and absolutely perfect, expect a large chunk of your deposit to be taken out for cleaning services.
