We love Sumida Gardens! It’s a great place to live. The community is outstanding. It’s a family friendly environment and neighbors quickly become good friends. Management is great and very responsive. They are extremely helpful. They go above and beyond to make Sumida Gardens the most welcoming place to be from coordinating beautiful events for the residents to providing excellent customer service.

Best place to live. We have moved ten times uptill now in Michigan as well as Santa Barbara and never loved any area like this. We really liked these appartments and all the efforts put by our office management to keep this area safe and secure for our kids. Christian (community manager) is very nice and friendly and always there for us. Good thing is they are very kids friendly and Goleta Emergency is nearby. Its a short walk from “Crushcakes” too.

It's a nice place to live, but be aware that they'll nickel and dime you on the way out in an effort to take your entire security deposit. We were tenants there for two years, but on the way out they conveniently took our ENTIRE security deposit for dubious repairs that very likely fall within the typical 'wear and tear' that is NOT legal to charge for in the state of California. We were so overwhelmed by the move during COVID that we didn't fight it, but it was scummy behaviour in a place where rents are sky high already. I guarantee you the owners of this place are making money hand over fist, and it's completely unnecessary, predatory behavior to scheme to take "refundable" security deposits from responsible tenants. I've never experienced another landlord in Santa Barbara doing that despite living in similar quality places (La Colina gave me my entire security deposit back for the same level of wear and tear). Rent here at your own risk.

I really enjoyed my time here. The gardens are lovely. I was on the first floor and had a path leading to my unit which was so useful.It was also blissfully quiet. The staff is amazing. Christian from the leasing office, went above and beyond. I highly recommend this apartment community.

This was a water heater tank failure I discovered at 3:30 AM. The night staff responded immediately and got the plumbers in at 8:00 AM and essentially they were done at 10:30 AM. I have to give congratulations to the whole team working together getting this job done - the administrative staff at Sumida Gardens and the excellent plumbers. I was very impressed!
