5 State College Neighborhoods for Penn State Students: Downtown vs Toftrees vs Park Forest

Penn State students who live off campus mostly choose between five State College neighborhoods: downtown, Waupelani Drive, the Blue Course Drive and Northwick area, Park Forest, and Toftrees. Downtown is half a mile from class; the outer four are 1.3 to 2.1 miles out, where rooms list from $799 but CATA community routes cost $2.50 a ride.
