Feb 11, 2026An outstanding, remarkable, group of folks help make this place special.
From the fabulous shopping, food, and nature opportunities all within walking distance, Slabtown is a very fun area to live in. Slabtown Square is a gorgeous building in the heart of Slabtown, Pearl adjacent but not TOO close to downtown. The new northwest library has just opened up next door, which adds to the appeal of this location. Also, a new park will (eventually, sigh) open up right next door.
The management team is exceptional. They go above and beyond with community events—including professional photoshoots and wine classes—and strike the perfect balance in how they engage with residents. Above all, they are kind people, which really makes a difference.
Emily goes out of her way to be available for our needs, and will take the extra mile to make sure they are met.
Michael undoubtedly will always greets you when you walk in the door, “Welcome, Home”.
Kendra corresponds with love and warmth, and it is clearly genuine to boot. I will never forget the compassion and empathy she showed for my partner when he recently heard the news of a family member passing. She offered him condolences and a hug. Efforts like this do not go unnoticed, and are greatly appreciated. These are the kinds of things that we will remember, when we look back at living in Portland.
Also, have to mention- they are so great with dogs here! Great to a fault, because other tenants definitely take advantage of their kindness.
Alas, that is to be expected in this area. I love it, but there is a certain “type” attracted to the sleek, new, ~fancier~ side of Portland. I am here as an outsider, for grad school, so this is just my opinion after a few months. I love the opportunity to be here, but there are definitely some entitled dog owners and people in the neighbourhood. You thought the lack of dog poop pick up in Chinatown was bad? Phhhbth Slabtown says “hold my beer”… erm, or, champagne. That’s neither here nor there, but important to know if you have made it this far in the review and are on the fence on the area of Slabtown in general.
All in all- I am SO grateful to live at Slabtown square. Oh, did I mention… free (included in monthly fees) espresso??? I have about six shots everyday, and yes I had some before writing this.
Seriously though, their community spaces include the sky lounge (my espresso lounge), multiple gyms, theatre room, dog wash station, and MUCH more!
Also, we must not forget the in-unit washer and dryer?!
If you see a place available here, book a tour.
