If i could give this place negative stars i very much would. The price they charge for apartments that aren't worth it, is insanity. The floors were uneven (a giant hill in the middle of the living space) the walls weren't straight which was super weird but also made it impossible to hang anything level. The maintenance crew was subpar at best. They had the same guy check out spare bathroom toilet 3 different times after the problem wasn't fixed, there was exposed wire in the extra bedroom and the front closet that we notified them about upon move in, that they didn't fix. They charge $50 for an outside space that you had to tow people out of when they weren't supposed to be there. Which lead to my vehicle being vandalized. The staff didn't communicate with each other let alone the tenants. I would have to call or physically go into the office to get things cleared up or elaborated on. We were charged $3110 for a 2 bed 2 bath with no AC and heat that didn't work. We constantly were told not to use the kitchen sink because the units below up were experiencing backups, which turned out to be rice clogging up the pipes, and i didn't cook rice. We had our water turned off as a community a lot, and they never told us when the water was turned back on. There was always homeless and drugged out people in the building(because it offers no privacy or security, the pool was never clean, the hallways smelt of marijuana so badly you could get a contact high. I know with the location being so close to SDSU it might seem like a decent option, It's not. 10/10 save your money and find somewhere better.

Horrible communication. Lesley in the leasing office responded to emails very unprofessionally and always had an attitude. Notices constantly left on door telling you that people will be entering your apartment in less than 24 hours without your consent. Maintenance coming by to fix who knows what at LEAST once a week, and most of the time not knowing what they’re “fixing”. Couldn’t even enjoy my days off of work because of the constant maintenance, yet somehow nothing is ever fixed. Water shut off several times a month. No AC. Homeless people sleeping in the hallways. Dumpsters always overflowing and trash everywhere. Getting our deposit was an insanely huge process and they took almost $2k off our deposit for issues that we didn’t cause. Good luck here.

Heads up to anyone thinking of moving here, sometimes you can only flush the toilet once an hour, the hot water is barely hot, and there’s always plumbers in your unit cause the pipes need to be constantly monitored or else they will cause a flood. C’mon Penthouse Apartment owners, do something about the issues with your pipes. I know it’ll cost you money but to have tenants lock themselves into leases at your apartments is completely unethical when you don’t even mention these issues beforehand. You have also have a great staff at the front desk that I empathize with because I’m sure they’re tired of having to deal with complaints over these issues.

I would highly, HIGHLY recommend finding another apartment if possible. I lived here until recently for about 1.5 years and have lived in 4 other apartments and this was definitely the worst one I lived in. Summed up, the apartment itself is undesirable, the communication is horrible, and the owners don’t seem to care about the safety and wellbeing of the residents. I'll briefly highlight some of the awful experiences I had: constant water shut off, dumpsters being full all the time, super small parking spaces, no air conditioning, horrible communication from the leasing office, maintenance requests were a pain to put in and it took us months to get a lightbulb replaced, they assigned someone else the same mailbox as us, they stabbed a hole in our wall while working on the electrical panel, my bike got stolen within a week of moving in, we had a package stolen less than half an hour after it was delivered, our oven's broil was switched with the regular oven function when we moved in, the balcony is made so that water flows into the apartment when it rains, they put notes on people's doors instead of sending emails, and they advertised free shuttles on their fliers and had it in the lease but stopped offering it and only told us after we moved in.

Scammers scammers scammers. They claim that they care for their tenants but they act quite the opposite. The manager, Monica (who usually answers the calls) needs to find a solution to her rudeness towards residents. She would make you feel unwelcome and as if you were staying at the penthouse property for free. We were one of the apartments that were infected with bedbugs and charged over $2000. We were told that we were the only apt, although I’ve seen other residents dealt the same issue over the same time period. Not to mention the poor security measures, the times our complaints are brushed off and ignored. Or the way they always keep on increasing the rent for no improvement in their apartments whatsoever. The only good thing is the location, other than that run and find a better place where you’d actually feel at HOME.
