I recently moved here, and they apparently switched management companies. At first I was a bit nervous about the switch, but as it turns out, the new management has been TOP notch. The online portal had a couple of major issues and also I had issues with internet setup, but everything was just seamlessly taken care of, so it was actually a really smooth process for me! Easy to communicate with, and I have to admit this was probably one of the smoothest transitions for me :)

Do not be fooled by the good Google reviews – they’re misleading. Please take a look at the Google reviews of Tripalink Seattle before you sign the lease. This place holds Thanksgiving draws for tenants in exchange for positive reviews. They will go to great lengths to keep your deposit. I was charged for repainting the entire unit despite the inspector stating only a minor touch-up was needed. They won't disclose the reasons for charges unless you press them. The rent discount is a trap with numerous hidden fees. I even received an email falsely accusing me of smoking in the unit, only to discover they sent it to everyone to intimidate tenants. The front door area had a persistent odor for two months during my stay. The laundry machines are expensive and only accommodate tiny loads. Stay away!

Discriminatory! Kulle advertises waving pre-payment of last month's rent with credit scores over 700, but when contacted they don't rent to anyone with a credit score under 675 without a cosigner. I may be rebuilding my credit, but I have a job that pays several times the monthly rent and I've lived in the neighborhood for several years, all without a co-signer. I found the criteria on the rental application and sure enough, the credit score is the only requirement I don't meet; income to rent is good, debt to income is good. This type of exclusion doesn't protect landlords but often are used to legally exclude protected classes of people.

Lived here for a year and it was awesome! The roof view is incredible and the fellow residents were friendly, plus you can't beat the location for a convenient walking commute to downtown. If you do move in, here's a pro tip: put your name in at Kedai Makan (awesome restaurant across the street), go to your roof for a beer, and once you're finished it will be your turn in line.

I lived here for a bit over a year and I loved it.
Pros:
- Management is awesome. Probably the best landlords I've had. Very responsive. When I had to extend my stay by a few months because of the coronavirus lockdown they were great and kept my rent the same
- Fair rent price for the area
- It's very YIMBY, if you're the kind of person that cares about promoting affordable housing - it's like the highest-density housing complex in the area and had a mixture of income levels
- Apartments are great. It's like living in an upscale dorm I guess (or downscale depending on how nice of a college you went to I guess). The ceiling on mine was super high with these great big windows. The whole feng shui felt great.
- The rooftop is awesome. Nothing beat getting up in the morning and drinking coffee on the roof, watching the pidgeons fly around with the Space Needle right in front of you.
- Location is fantastic, if you like Capitol Hill
- Kitchen is great
- Wifi is great (I got my own router which helped a lot, but the building wifi is good too)
- Package lock box
Cons:
- Safety is an issue (mostly because of the location). I had a bike stolen from the bike room. I will say the management responded by adding locks to the bike room and to the laundry room and sending around emails like every week making sure people don't let in tailgaters.
- It was a good thing that I had a (long-distance) girlfriend before moving in because I think it would've been hard to meet someone. Like I'm not sure how to bring someone with me and ask them to climb the ladder to get into my loft bed. For similar reasons it is a good thing I don't drink that often.
