After seeing some other people speak out about this I just have to add my own input: Though not a Standard resident myself, I have a very close friend that lives on the floor that flooded in January and I can confidently say DO NOT LIVE AT THE STANDARD. Their apartment almost completely flooded months ago and yet management has done nothing but ignore, gaslight, and continue to deny them compensation. The damage was severe and yet their solution was just to move the roommate with the most damage to another unit and basically leave the rest of the residents to deal with it. They briefly had a crew in doing maintenance, but after getting part way through the demolition of shared spaces and the affected bedroom they were fired. My friend and her roommates have had to do the majority of clean up and management by themselves and most of their requests for help have been ignored unless they involve the building’s corporate LLC. They literally had to call the office in Georgia to get anyone to give them answers. On top of that they have gotten zero compensation, even though their apartment was unlivable at certain points. Their floors got covered in rust during the incident and other apartment residents on the floor have told them there was mold in their spaces. They were left to do all the contaminant clean up themselves until literally this week. I’ve seen the damage and it is not just “cosmetic” or a “quick fix.” I am genuinely concerned about the health and wellbeing of my friend living in that space and feel so bad for how much emotional distress this whole ordeal has caused her and her roommates. I’ve been to the building before all this and it was genuinely a lovely experience. If everything goes well, the Standard is a pretty safe and “luxury” place to live, but the minute anything goes wrong you will be screwed. They will take as much money from you as possible while doing the bare minimum to keep you from reporting or suing them. I know multiple people that are refusing to return next year or have decided against the Standard because of the treatment of all the girls on the 14th floor. They deserve way better.
