Have been living here since April and feel massively hoodwinked. The apartments are very old to the point they are falling apart and understandably need massive renovations. Unfortunately for me that entire renovation is coinciding with my year long lease. The construction noise is unbearable and as someone who works from home, I'm at the end of my rope. We're not talking about a 'few' weeks of living in a construction zone, it's been constant over the last six months. I brought my concerns up to Dan and he flat out dismissed me and brushed me off. My walls are vibrating from the noise as early as 7am most days and the construction workers have even left bottles filled with urine all around the complex. (Will update with videos of the noise and pictures of the urine bottles if possible to attach) I understand the construction is necessary but it is incredibly upsetting that management did not inform me of the massive construction prior to me applying here or offer any sort of rent adjustment to offset the terrible inconvenience. I would not recommend living at Plaza Apartments. Even without the terrible construction, they charge a premium and don't even have a gym or pool which is pretty standard at any other complex.

I lived here for about 2 years, and just moved out. The good: -Beautiful location. I'll miss looking at the lush canal each day. -The neighbors. Friendly folks all around, and a large immigrant population (which I like!!). -The maintenance staff. Buddy in particular was awesome, and he did his best keeping our apartment as functional as possible and had a sweet demeanor. -Apartment size. Our 1 bedroom had pretty good floorspace and layout. The bad: -The laundry hut: the machines kept breaking or eating our quarters. The dryers seemed to dry less and less over time, requiring more $. -The overall building: The owner is cheap in building materials and it shows. The garage is constantly falling apart, water damage everywhere, no proper drainage, the gutters have never been cleaned, the drains don't work resulting in standing water, etc etc. I feel like they're just letting a cool building fall apart and it's really sad. -The windows: Our cheap windows in our unit leaked with every storm, soaking the carpet. In the winter, ice would form on the inside. They were very poorly insulated. We were constantly battling wet windowsills and it got annoying (and moldy). Buddy caulked our windows often but there's only so much one can do without just replacing them. -The ugly: Despite these ongoing facility issues, our rent was cranked up every 6 months. It didn't feel worth it stick around, and we left for apartments with windows that actually stay dry. I feel like the building will just cave in eventually.
