14 Years of Renting — This Has Been the Worst Experience I’ve been renting apartments for over 13–14 years, starting from my college days. I’ve lived in multiple cities and different types of communities. Unfortunately, this is the worst apartment experience I’ve had. I’m writing this so others can make an informed decision. 1. Severe Noise & Poor Structural Insulation The apartment looks nice during a tour. However, once you move in, you quickly realize how thin and fragile the structure is. The sound insulation between floors is extremely poor. Normal activities from upstairs — walking, pacing, dropping items — transfer directly into your unit. It feels as if there is no buffering layer in the structure. In this community, there is a very large student population. That may not be a problem for everyone, but it becomes one if you value quiet living. In our case, the upstairs neighbors are a group of teenagers/students. We regularly experience: • Loud stomping late at night • Constant pacing that vibrates through the ceiling • Groups of 15–20+ people gathering in one unit • Music and dancing overhead • Noise well past midnight The issue is not occasional disturbance — it is structural. Even regular movement sounds amplified. If you work during the day and commute, it becomes very difficult to rest at night. Weekends are not peaceful. There is no predictability; you never know when the noise will start or stop. After a long week, you should be able to relax. That has not been possible here. 2. Management Response We have reported the issue multiple times. Staff are polite when you speak with them, but there has been no effective resolution. The management repeatedly asks for additional “evidence” and shifts responsibility back to the tenant. We were told: • If the disturbance happens before 6 PM, call the office. • After hours, call the police. Most of the serious noise happens late at night, often after midnight. Expecting residents to repeatedly involve police instead of addressing recurring problem units is not a practical solution. Despite ongoing complaints, the situation remains unchanged. 3. Rent Does Not Match the Experience This property is not cheap. The rent is relatively high compared to many alternatives in the area. At this price point, you expect: • Proper sound insulation • Effective enforcement of community rules • A peaceful living environment Unfortunately, the actual experience does not justify the cost. Advice to Future Renters If you are considering signing a lease here: • Visit during evening hours, not just daytime tours. • Ask specifically about floor insulation and past noise complaints. • Try to speak with current residents. • Avoid lower-floor units if possible. • Be cautious if you prefer a quiet environment and regular sleep schedule. Final Assessment Appearance can be misleading. While the property may look modern, the structural sound transmission and lack of effective management response create a very stressful living experience. After 14 years of renting in different communities, this has been the most disruptive and disappointing one. If quiet, rest, and basic peace matter to you, I would strongly recommend exploring other options before committing here.

Packages keep getting stolen. It started with packages that were delivered to the door, but they are being stolen out of the package delivery room now too (packages are left out of the lockers since they’re overfilled). There are cameras in the locker delivery room, so we called the office to see if we could review the footage for who is stealing the packages. Every time we call, the office says they’ll leave a note for the manager since he’s the only person who can access it, but we’ve never gotten a call back or any response about it. The only thing we’ve gotten so far was from the front office, who just told us to file a police report.
