Ventana Student Housing

Ventana is a pretty good place to live! There isn't much to complain about. I think anything bad that people have to say about ventana is pretty reasonable. Like for example people complain about fees when they didnt clean. I was hear for a couple years and I never had any problems.

Context: Lived here for 10 months. Have two friends who have been here for 3 years, which is how I found out about it. Was renting another apartment closer to Provo before. Have a job and going to school full-time. I do not currently work for Ventana or UVU and was not prompted to post this review by anyone. Main pros for me: - Rent for what you get is reasonable for the area. - Apartments might be a little older, but they're well kept. Maintenance is generally pretty responsive. - Staff are pretty chill. - Atmosphere is pretty calm and quiet. I'm extroverted, but as an adult who works from home and does school full-time, I don't need parties going crazy. - I'm protective of my car. Parking here is luxuriously spacious compared to pretty much every other place I've seen in Orem or especially Provo (RIP Provo parking). - Located up the hill from a Walmart and across the street from UVU. Two or more bus stops can be found right outside the complex. - You rent your room. You don't have to try to keep the other 3 rooms filled. Cons: - If you're a party kid looking for wild 2am apartment nightlife in your first semester of college, this may not be the place for you. There are lots of late-night things to do nearby though. - Top floor is an extra $15 or $30/mo. Not a super con for me because I don't have to deal with people on the floor above me and the view is nice, but might be for some. - The gym ain't great. It's a treadmill, a couple bikes, a cable machine, and a few free weights. Fortunately, UVU's gym is free for full-time students and close by. Commercial options are also nearby and available for pretty cheap. - I sometimes see complaints about cleaning checks. Cleaning checks are once every quarter and they can be pretty thorough. If you're super messy and don't clean up, you will get charged per your contract. If you're clean and know how to scrub a shower, you're chilling. It's not hard to get a perfect pass (done it a couple times). Additional note: Some reviewers mention hidden fees. Neither I nor my friends who have lived here longer have found any. Maybe there are some legit ones, but I think it might also be good to read the contract, stay clean, and don't do dumb stuff.
