Horrible leasing office staff experience. Came to the building for a tour, obviously first time being there so was a little confused on which location but when I found the building I used the call system to call (no answer). tried again no answer, so finally just called their physical phone number. while this was all happening, there's a sketchy guy staring at me so obviously feeling uncomfortable I quickly go next door while making the phone call for safety. Once on the phone I tell the staff that I'm here for my tour and instead of asking for my name or appointment info, they accuse me of lying. I got back to the front door (even though there's a man making me uncomfortable, I stand in front of the locked building door to "prove that I'm there" and instead of kindly letting me in for my tour he talks about how tired he is, that he has another tour at 3:45 (mind you it's 3:24 and he's been stalling on the phone) talking about a 10 minute window. So I kindly let him know that the 10 minute window still hasn't passed and that I have been waiting and calling the building for the past 5 minutes prior to this. Ultimately not letting me in for my tour, the front camera and call system is clearly unreliable if he was "watching it attentively for the past 20minutes” and didn't see someone standing there calling and leaving a message. This is definitely a safety concern, a sign of unkind staff and if this is how they treat potential residents imagine how they will treat you once you already signed the lease, and I wouldn't be suprised if I would have had a different experience if I was white. I wouldn't recommend anyone move or tour here based on my experience and reading the other reviews.

I've lived here for 15 years, and I absolutely love the location. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else in Portland. The building, however, is cursed, and management can be wonderful or horrible, depending on who Greystar decides to put in charge at the moment. The trash chute was meant to be multi-purpose, but when the separator broke, they denied that it wasn't working for a while, until finally just telling everyone to bring their recycling to the trash room then on. This isn't the biggest deal, but it was the first major thing to go wrong. We have water problems constantly, with rubber lining shedding from the pipes and ending up in our bath water, a leak in the walls that got fixed, but led to a hole cut out of our bedroom wall for a couple months, and a slew of shutoffs due to some problem they can't seem to find a permanent fix for. And there's some kind of electrical problem in the bathroom that they've told us would be too expensive to fix, so we have to use the hair dryer in the bedroom to avoid destroying a third one. While the people behind the front desk are great, the overall management has been set on making us want to leave. Every time I let them know that something isn't working, I'm given an excuse as to why things can't be better. You could ask the manager to stop throwing banana peels on the floor, explaining why it's a safety hazard, and they'd just complain that the trash can's a whole ten feet away, and that distance adds up with every banana, so nah, I'm gonna drop them right in front of you. I'm just tired of being lied to by the people in charge of this building. They've shown on countless occasions how little they care about the people who live here. Sure, they'll throw a Comcast-sponsored gathering every few months and give out a few cookies, but if they have to edit a document or highlight an important date to make things clearer for their tenants, that's going too far. Speaking of Comcast, they paid to wire the building in exchange for an exclusivity deal, but if you move in, you can use Astound, who rents the infrastructure from Comcast. It took me about a year to get Cyan to allow Astound's service for residents, back when they were called Wave G, and even back then, the manager running things at the time lied to my face about having spoken with the company about letting them in. Her meek shrug after I'd asked if she'd been lying to me kind of embodies this company's entire attitude. Don't expect anything to happen in proper time. Everything that used to be simple and straightforward is now outsourced to a third-party vendor. You don't even get a copy of the next lease to sign anymore, you get a packet taped to your door prompting you to request the lease. And if you do request it, they might forget about your request for several weeks, causing you to pay a penalty for their mistake. I'm living proof of that. I'd love to be able to recommend living here, but I just can't. I wouldn't even consider any building managed by Greystar.
