UPDATE (3/8): I’m writing a follow-up review so prospective residents have a full picture of what the experience can look like after moving out. During our time living here, the building itself seemed nice and the unit was brand new when we moved in. However, the move-out process and what followed has been extremely frustrating. When we relocated for work, our employer paid the full amount the property requested to cover remaining rent, early lease termination, and concession repayment. After moving out, we were then charged additional damages. Our $400 security deposit was taken and we were told we still owed another $422. What has been most frustrating is the lack of clarity and accountability in resolving the issue. The documentation provided has been limited to a ledger and a few photos of small holes in the wall, without clear explanation of how the charges were calculated or proof of actual repair costs. After leaving my previous review, management publicly asked me to contact the property to resolve the matter. I did call as requested, but my call was never returned. Meanwhile, a collection agency has been attempting to collect the balance. I’m still open to resolving this directly with management, but the process so far has involved being passed between the property, Greystar, and the collection agency without clear answers. For anyone considering moving here, I would strongly recommend understanding exactly how move-out charges are handled and making sure everything is clearly documented from day one. Original Review: Extremely disappointing management, poor communication, and unfair move-out practices. Our experience with Willamette Tower has been frustrating from start to finish, particularly during move-out. We were charged $422 for alleged damages that clearly fall under normal wear and tear. This is on top of our deposit, which they have already kept. When we disputed the charges, we were sent in circles between Greystar, Willamette Tower and a collection agency—each claiming the other is responsible. Greystar has stated that they no longer manage the property and therefore cannot address or remove the charges, yet the debt collection agency confirms they are collecting the balance on Greystar and Willamette Tower’s behalf. This has resulted in an endless runaround with no party willing to take accountability. Instead of resolving the issue directly and professionally, the matter was escalated to collections, putting our credit at risk over questionable fees. The leasing office staff has been consistently unresponsive and ineffective. Concerns are rarely addressed, email follow-ups are ignored, and communication is poor at best. Unfortunately, this appears to be a pattern rather than an isolated experience—many of the reviews here reflect similar complaints about incompetent management and unresolved tenant concerns. If you are considering Willamette Tower, I strongly encourage you to read the reviews carefully and seriously consider a different place to call home. Don’t get swayed by the views or amenities. There are far better-managed properties that treat residents with fairness, transparency, and basic respect. If I could give 0 stars, I would.
