My experience with East Pointe has been disappointing, though there are some reasons why someone might consider living here. The price is one of the most affordable in Provo, and the location near BYU campus is convenient. There's also ample space for belongings. At first glance, it seems like an ideal place. However, my experience quickly soured. When I moved in, the apartment was filthy, with dust piles everywhere. To make matters worse, there were broken items, like a cabinet handle that fell off as soon as I touched it. I didn’t think much of it at the time, assuming these issues would be resolved. Unfortunately, things only worsened. After a couple of months, our sink broke. Maintenance came promptly but never returned to fix it, despite multiple follow-ups and visits to the office. After months of no resolution, the sink was still broken. This lack of response became a recurring issue with other maintenance problems. But the tipping point came when I had a roommate with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. His behavior escalated to the point of nightly outbursts, property damage, and threats to neighbors. I feared for my safety and moved out. East Pointe was unresponsive to my concerns—no one was available at the office, and calls went unanswered. Only after I sent pictures of the damage did they take any action, but their priority was the property, not my well-being. Even after moving out, East Pointe continued to charge me full rent, offering only a $200 one-time deduction despite the safety concerns. Three months later, I'm still paying for an apartment I don't live in, unable to transfer my lease because of the eviction. To say I'm dissatisfied with East Pointe would be an understatement. In the end, the cost-benefit just isn’t worth it. You'd be better off paying a bit more for a more reliable and secure apartment than dealing with the constant issues and lack of support at East Pointe.
