Avoid Summer Pointe at all costs unless you are truly desperate for the cheapest possible place to live. My experience there was awful, and the low rent was nowhere near worth the stress, filth, and lack of response from management. I had some of the worst roommates imaginable. They regularly trashed the apartment, had loud parties nearly every weekend, and repeatedly violated the lease in multiple ways, including unauthorized subletting. Management was made aware of the problems, yet from my experience, very little was actually done to address them. The worst incident was when sewage backed up through the bathtub and flooded part of the apartment with disgusting sewage water. This wasn’t a minor maintenance issue—it was raw sewage inside our living space. Even with something that serious, getting the problem addressed took longer than I felt was reasonable, and I was extremely disappointed with how the aftermath was handled. Between the constant roommate problems, repeated lease violations, parties, poor living conditions, and the sewage incident, I came away feeling like management simply did not care enough about what tenants were actually living through. The rent may be around $350 a month, and that sounds incredibly cheap, but ask yourself why it is so cheap. Saving money on rent doesn’t feel like much of a bargain when you’re dealing with nonstop problems in the place you’re supposed to be able to call home. After my experience, I would not rent from Summer Pointe again, and I would be very hesitant to rent from any related complex under the same management. If you have another realistic option, I strongly recommend taking it.
