Yugo Raleigh Logan

Writing this over the winter break so note this is all subject to change. Sorry if this is rambly, tried to be as comprehensive as I can. I'd say overall Yugo is very solid - but very, very overpriced. I live in the cheapest unit and I pay around $1400/mo including utils and parking which is absolutely insane. The unit is good but not worth the price. If you or someone you care about is paying for your housing, look elsewhere. That said, the apartment is pretty nice and none of my roommates have had any significant problems, so if you have the money to spend Yugo is a fantastic option. The 4x4s come with two fridges which is awesome, and on the whole the kitchen is great. The furniture kinda sucks (the bar stools especially), but it's not terrible. The walls are thick enough to not hear neighbors at all but thin enough that you can hear everything that happens in the living room (and there's a tiny bit of echo too), though I suspect that's pretty typical for student apartments (and I'm weird about that kind of stuff so take my word with a grain of salt). My room is a good size but my roommates' rooms are tiny, so keep that in mind when picking a unit since you/your roommates don't get to choose the rooms you get. The AC is fine but the heater is pretty bad, your electricity costs will at least triple over the winter and you'll still be cold. Also I don't know what it is about the circulation but dust accumulates so quickly that my shampoo bottle regularly has a layer dust on top of it which is wild. Other reviews complain about WiFi but I haven't had any problems, so I guess that's been fixed? The maintenance staff are very nice and respond very quickly. And, of course, the location is unbeatable. If you get lucky with the light on Hillsborough you can get to classes on Main Campus in like 8 minutes. I know I said "I haven't had any problems" and then proceeded to list a ton of them, but keep in mind those are mostly nitpicks. On the whole I'm very happy with my apartment, just not the price. Yugo is definitely the best on Hillsborough St. (which is not a high bar but still), and if you have scholarship money or your parents are loaded then Yugo may just be one of the best choices on offer. If you value your money though you should probably look for somewhere further out. Also if you're reading this while apartment hunting then good luck!
