Easily the worst apartment we’ve lived in, even including the one that had half the bedroom grow black mold every year.
Any time a major appliance breaks, it takes weeks to fix.
No air conditioning in July for almost four weeks, with several of those days being 100+ degrees, because they said it needed refrigerant, but then decided to replace the whole unit weeks later instead.
No hot water for over two weeks, because they said the water heater needed fixed, then we needed a new water heater, then the new water heater needed fixed, and then NV Energy needed to check out their gas line. Seven maintenance visits and having me call NV Energy twice before realizing it wasn’t the old water heater, the new water heater, or gas; it was a slab leak the whole time. Then there were three more visits, two by contractors and an eighth time themselves.
Currently no dryer for five weeks, approaching six, because it needs a heating element, and Antonio says their supervisor can’t manage to order the part properly. That was more than a week ago. I’d repair it myself in less than an hour, but I’m not the one receiving $20,000 a year in rent and contractually required to.
If you talk to the front office, they’ll say they can’t do anything and to put in another maintenance request. Put in another maintenance request, and they’ll either call to say there is no update and then close the ticket, or, will close the ticket without contacting you.
Despite two of those three appliances being essential services under Nevada law, we’ve never served a legal notice before. Maybe it’s time to start.
