Here is the meat and potatoes:
Bunkhouse apartments are mismanaged and unmaintained. There are no rules you can't bend or break outright. If you are looking for cheap housing next to campus, look no further. However, if you are looking for a better quality of life and willing to walk and pay a tad more, go elsewhere.
Management is horrible. Not only do they have hours that make it almost impossible for anyone who needs to work their way through college to contact them, but when you are able to call them, the probability they answer is 50-50.
Then, when you get frustrated about your slum, and it is a slum, enough to call the office, the lady will tell you that isn't her department. Seriously, how hard is it to call your husband or give me his number so I can give him the what for? Half the laundry machines are broken at any given point in time, and maintenance will hardly ever do anything more than the bare minimum. For example, two weeks ago, I asked for the carpet tile in my room to be glued back down, and they have yet to acknowledge that I have submitted a ticket. The dishwasher isn't properly installed and will lean forward if the door is opened. If you need a new shower head, they won't install a new one.
When I moved into another apartment over summer, nothing was clean. This was particularly annoying as they advertise " biweekly clean checks." Yet in my experience over the past 3 semesters, the clean checks occur once a month, if that. When they do happen, the guy walks in, looks around, and walks out, passing everyone. This includes when the apartment looks like a hoarders house.
This is also a no pets apartment. However, don't let that dissuade you from bringing your furry friend that sheds more than a husky.
Again, if you want quality, do not come here.
