The Landing loves to charge for any and every minor inconvenience. Did your key stop working, locking you out of your apartment? $50 lockout charge. Key replacement? $75. None of this was ever mentioned to me when I moved in, nor was I provided with the resident handbook where the key replacement charge was listed. Meanwhile, they can have their internet stop working, garage doors stop working, have their garbage room closed for a week, and nothing in the way of reconciliation. When I moved in, my A/C did not work. I asked the team and they told me if I set it too high, it can "overwork the A/C", so they advised me to leave it on and set it to a higher temperature. I followed up 3 times and each time it was the same thing. About a week and a half later, I walked in to the leasing office to pick up a package just to overhear another resident complaining about how she has to pay an electric bill for a non-working A/C and described the same issue I had. Their response? You should have shut it off if it didn't work. Both her and I ended up paying a bill for electric usage for following their advice. Multiple times over the time I've been here, their fire alarm went off in the middle of the night, they did not shovel the snow blocking the garage, and my lock stopped working. But hey, it's not like they have to take any accountability for these issues so why bother? That's to speak nothing of their insidious marketing tactics. They posted a letter on my door thats labeled "move out". I got worried I was going to be evicted, but then the rest of the letter reads that I'd have to move out if I didn't renew. You cannot tell me that they didn't realize how messed up that is, especially since I've had to tell their stupid AI multiple times that I am not renewing. I would not recommend moving here, and I will be reaching out to WashU Law, through whom I found this apartment, to list a warning under this apartment as they've done for others.
