If I could give this company negative stars, I would. To start off, I am an international student who has lived at two separate properties of TBG. I would like to inform EVERYONE TO STAY AWAY from this company. At 2425 Prospect property we had over 11 incidences of which 9 of them resulted in theft of personal belongings such as scooters and bikes. On top of that we had one ARMED break-in. Every single time the company neglected to do anything to stop these incidences from occurring. All they did, was send a generic response from ChatGPT emailed to everyone. The reason for these situations are a broken, non-closing front door, and easily accessible outside areas. In addition to all of this, when I first landed in the USA and went to the property, for 3 days, I couldn't use my bathroom because it was locked and no-one replied to give me codes. I also experienced robbery from my own secure private room which only "me and management" have codes for. When I brought the issue up no-one replied me more than month and a half until I got Berkley PD involved. Still they refuse to take responsibility. As you can, they respond using ChatGPT. Most of the 5 STAR reviews come from their own employees or the people they coerce to put them. They personally asked me to put a 5 star review for a discount of $100 for rent. The reason was that they "CLAIMED" to have clean the room prior to my move-in( as I have allergies), but when I asked my roommate he said that the last time this room was cleaned was a year ago. Which is why I got sick and tried to get help from management, but they ghosted me over 4 weeks. A common occurrence is that most of the amenities they offer always break down such as: - washing machines - outlets in the kitchen - water in fridge - house keeping (doesn't clean anything) - dirty sinks (over 2 months of rotten food in it) - dirty plates, pans, pots, utensils And on top of all of that, when you will move-out they will charge you regardless at least $50 even if you cleaned the room prior to move-out. Even though when I moved in my room was in complete mess: dirty greasy fridge, dirty floor, dirty drawers, a chair which doesn't even roll. Moreover, they LOVE to come into your room unannounced for tours. Where they bring a group of random people into your room and you can't oppose. For $1700 double room in a basement without sunlight, with only one window right next to trash bins. PLEASE AVOID.

This is a review for 2430 prospect st. Honest review 1) Noise ALWAYS under construction. Imagine you have forced to wake up everyday 8am in sometimes including weekend. You rent an expensive single and couldn’t study in your house because the construction last forever(months already) I hope this construction doesn’t happen in final. The house is simply not ready. Maybe it will be ready next semester. 2) often out of water You pay water bill and it always pause your either water and often don’t have hot water. 3) not sure if they are all student Found a housemate for me that doesn’t even have a Cal1 card because she’s not really an undergrad or graduate student here, maybe just in some kind of program, I’m not even sure about that. 4) angry maintenance Give you a door lock that is low in battery every single week. When you got lock out, they are mad at you “so what should I do? You should have been telling me earlier.” While he doesn’t either pick up call or read text message. 5) Broken furniture Fridge leaking, they couldn’t fix it for a long time. The closet door fell by itself and almost hurt my toes. 6) highly disturbing. They tour your room so often and often give you notice today and want to tour your room tmrw. highly disturbing. The manager call you without prior messaging which is also disturbing. Conclusion: Avoid at all costs. The manager ask me to leave a good comment previously. But sorry, I don’t really want to leave a fake comment especially under this situation. Not the worst in Berkeley, but with the price of 1800 per month and couldn’t provide the basic things you should get(noisy, often out of water, constantly entering your unit to tour your room while you’re still living there, broken furniture) Just find another place .
