These are majority gov subsidized apartments. Poor quality construction. The indoor air quality is horrible. Getting them to enforce their own no-smoking policy was like pulling teeth. This place owes me 40k in attorneys fees after I beat them in a lawsuit. My car was also vandalized 3 times here.

CONCERNING MANAGEMENT
I had an extremely unprofessional experience with Shauna at Denton Apartments. Her communication was dismissive, snide, and unnecessarily hostile throughout the application and appeal process.
I was denied based on credit items that were later resolved and removed, yet Shawna refused to fairly reconsider my application using updated information. Instead of providing a clear appeal process or professional explanation, I was met with stonewalling and condescension.
This experience raised serious fair-housing concerns, and I have filed formal complaints to ensure the situation is reviewed properly. No applicant should be treated this way or dismissed when the original basis for denial no longer exists.
I would strongly caution anyone applying here to document everything and be prepared to advocate for themselves.

Dec 09, 2025
I was approved for an apartment here in mid-November and was told the unit should be ready in December. I planned my entire housing transition around that timeframe. Today is December 9th, and this is the very first time I’m being informed that the unit won’t be ready until the first week of January.
A delay of more than a month is frustrating enough, but giving that information at the last possible moment — in the middle of winter, during the holidays — is extremely unprofessional.
What makes this worse is my situation: I am coming out of homelessness, and stable housing is a vital part of rebuilding my life. This last-minute delay has put me in a very difficult position financially and emotionally, all because accurate communication was not given when it should have been.
I expected better from a property that presents itself as well-managed. I still plan to move in because I’ve been looking forward to starting over here, but the way this process has been handled so far has been disappointing. I sincerely hope management addresses the communication issues so future tenants don’t go through something like this.

Went down to apply for a unit. Met 5 residents while waiting. Kathy the manager is awesome, took the time to talk with me on the phone and in person making sure all was completed and clearly understood. Was happy to hear back a week later application accepted and on waiting list. Location right off freeway. Office is in front of building in middle. Also had pizza place on corner but didn't have time to grab one that day.

Kathy is the Epitome of what the standard should be. It's nice to feel completely welcomed and have the entire process go smoothly.
Update: Just signed another lease! And just like the first one, I couldn't be happier with how easy the process was, how willing to explain and go over things with me management was, and while nobody is perfect, things are improving consistently. I have learned alot in the past couple years, about myself, about other people, and just about life in general. And I will tell you, if you stay realistic, willing to do your part, and remember that everyone can make a mistake, or have an off day, I believe that this could be the perfect place for you. I have lived in just about every type of dwelling you can imagine. I've been a home owner, I've dealt with about every entity to do with housing. And I just need to mention that sometimes we need to take a look in the mirror and ask ourselves, " what have I done to make things better"?. "What role may I have played in things not seeming to work out how I expected"? And how could I have maybe done or not done even the slightest thing to either prevent a negative situation or outcome, or to maybe enhance my experience a bit. We are so quick to point the finger and unrealistically blame others for our demise, or unhappiness. Sometimes we have to work together. I've read some pretty disheartening things in these reviews, and although there may be things here or there that could use some fine tuning, remind yourself how much worse things could be. Remind yourself that sometimes WE have to be the change in the things we expect or want. We are all human. Nothing and nobody is perfect. You have to give respect to get respect. I understand that reviews are helpful. I understand there may be some legitimate issues in the past or present. But I know for a fact alot of the complaints on here are not realistic and stem from tenants causing alot of their own grief. Be more open minded. Maybe go out of YOUR way to try and correct an issue if possible. And just give things a chance. Let's get back to the old ways where it was help me help you. Lend a hand. Have a conversation. And maybe humble yourself and remember where you ACTUALLY stand in life before you maybe shoot your expectations and standards through an unrealistic roof and actually become part of the problem. Thank you again to Kathy for continuing to go out of your way to help us feel at home. Thank you to our ONE maintenence technician for a great job at trying to keep up with everything and taking pride in your work. And thank you to my fellow tenants who DO try to make this place the best it can be and I wish everyone a great rest of 2025. Let's do our part! Thank you.
