Super quiet and lowkey. Unfortunately they've raised my rent too much and I'm having to move to a cheaper building with more roommates. They are pretty helpful and their maintenance crew is kind. They clearly cut corners - they replaced fixtures outside with super bright fixtures on I saw on discount at Costco, which make my apartment bright even at night with shades drawn. There is a courtyard but instead of grass it is turf. There is no blinds on a high-up window - evidence of previous blinds is there, with a half of one blinds rail still on the ceiling. I had to call management to come and replace my fire alarm in my living room which was 4 years out of date, and install one in my bedroom that had none. There is a fake-out vent above the stove, and I know there are range vents installed in some units that I've been in, but there is none in mine. The landlord special was used in some spots where mold was not properly removed before being painted over, so I have to regularly bleach those areas. The gate adds a great layer of security between the outside and my front door, which feels very safe. I have high ceilings as I am on the second floor. I get great sun despite few windows. Overall, I greatly enjoy living here despite its shortcomings. Its the standard crummy college apartment we all expect. However, their pricing is slowly inching towards the 'luxury' housing prices, which I can NOT afford. The luxury student housing has pushed up prices everywhere else anyways. I've seen some of those units, and these ones do not stand up to them. Still love my apartment, but prices are not stellar.

I have really enjoyed staying in 1414 Alder. I love the location because it is close to campus and the layout of the apartment is open and very nice

It's a cheap option that provides the bare minimum very well. If all you need is a room to yourself in a good location for a good price, this is exactly what you are looking for.

Although I do really enjoy it, the price is so low for a reason. Appliances are outdated (but still work), there are not really any amenities worth writing home about, and the outside walkways are pretty unkempt. However, for the price and location (litteraly across the street from campus) it can’t be beat!

I actually really do love living here. It's basically as close to campus as you can get without living in a dorm - but way nicer and not that much more expensive. My favorite features are the huge windows and gorgeous courtyard view. I get natural light pretty much all day, and the courtyard is well-maintained with tons of bushes and greenery even in the winter - I even see birds out there sometimes!
