I would caution any potential tenants against renting any of the apartments that face Clarke Street, if you are sensitive to noise and/or have any plans to open your windows. Right now as I write this at 1am, the HVAC equipment on the Clarke Street roof sounds like a jet engine is idling outside. It's always loud, but since Oct 22, it gets turned up full blast around midnight, all night, until morning. And then every morning 4-5 am, extra large commercial dump trucks make multiple runs up and down Clarke Street, emptying the metal dumpsters; this noise exceeds 100 db. I am writing this as a neighbor - I don't live in the building. I have called the management office 6 times since Oct 22 in an attempt to discuss the HVAC settings. It ran all summer at a lower volume - clearly it's not necessary to have it up full blast in the winter. Perhaps they will be passing on the excess electricity charges to tenants? The few times my phone call was answered, I was told the maintenance supervisor is out sick. So either the management lies, or there's no staff available to address any maintenance problems for as long as 3 weeks and counting. Either way, I think this is a concern for potential tenants: maybe you will be treated the same way?
