Generally, I don’t write reviews, so this will probably come across a bit more negative than usual. It usually takes quite a bit for me to put the time and energy into writing one, so keep that in mind.
I’m currently apartment shopping and working with an apartment locator to find a decent complex in North Dallas that allows easy travel both north and south. This property came up on the list. At first glance it seemed a bit overpriced for what it offered, but I only have two major requirements and one “nice to have”: the unit must be on the highest floor and it must have a garage. Based on the listing, this place appeared to have both.
I was contacted via email by Jennifer, who was prompt, friendly, and provided all the information I needed, including which units would be available around my move-in date and where the garages were located. I scheduled a tour for 1:30, and up to that point the process was seamless. Jennifer was great.
However, things went downhill when we arrived for the appointment. It looked like Jennifer was out of the office that day, and we were helped by another employee Leticia. She was sitting on the left side of the leasing office computers. From the start, it honestly felt like she had zero interest in potentially closing the deal or even engaging with us. She seemed very closed off and asked for the same information Jennifer should have already had in the system—things like what I was looking for, my budget, preferred location, etc. There was little to no effort to be personable.
At one point I even mentioned that if she was busy, we could just do a self-guided tour. She said self-guided tours weren’t available, yet shortly afterward handed us the keys and had us view the unit ourselves anyway after briefly showing us the leasing office amenities. My sister immediately picked up on the same odd vibe.
I don’t want to assume any malicious intent, but it definitely felt like she had little interest in doing the job or helping us through the process.
As for the property itself, after walking through it, the place honestly gave off more of a prison-compound feel than a welcoming apartment community. It’s an older garden-style complex with elevators and very basic amenities, which is expected for that style of property. But overall, this CityLine apartment complex really captures the deeply rooted “rat race” feeling that much of Dallas has.
If location is your only factor when apartment shopping, this might be a convenient spot. Otherwise, everything else about the complex felt pretty bleak at best.

Overall good quality for the location and options available nearby. Maintenance, office, trash valet and overall employeed workers here are amazing. I wish there was more routine cleaning of the common areas, but I don't spend enough time in these areas to observe how frequently they are sanitized currently.

Lived here when I first moved to Dallas a few years ago. The location was perfect for me, but the apartments are definitely over priced. While i had no issues with my particular unit, the building was NASTY! There was no proper upkeep, as the hallways floors were always nasty unswept. As you walked past the first floor units, bed bugs were everywhere. Tenants constantly allowed their dogs to piss on the elevator and the elevators were only cleaned with Fabuloso...which does NOT disinfect. The party room was a nice space, but that was never cleaned as well. I contacted management a couple of times regarding some issues, but they were never addressed. The parking lot gate was always broke and car were stolen a few times. This place has potential, but they don't keep it up well and it's not worth the price. I ended up not renewing my lease when they decided to raise rent by $350 to "keep up with the competition." There was no legit justification for the increase. Save your money

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Highly Recommended – Truly Feels Like Home
I have lived at The Standard for about two years now. I hadn’t lived in an apartment for over 15 years, so I wasn’t sure what to expect—but I can honestly say this has been a wonderful experience.
What makes these apartments special is the staff.
Jennifer is always welcoming with a warm smile. She’s kind, caring, compassionate, and truly treats people with genuine respect no matter what the situation is.
Lorena is such a sweet and pleasant person to work with—always accommodating and helpful.
Robert, the maintenance gentleman, is excellent at what he does. He is kind, professional, and extremely thorough. Any time he comes in for a work order, he looks around to make sure nothing else needs attention, and he fixes it without being asked. That level of care means a lot.
I recently had the best experience with the manager, Lisa. She has such a kind, funny, and uplifting spirit. After speaking with her, I completely understand why the staff is always so happy—her leadership and energy set the tone.
The complex also hosts events for residents, which adds such a nice touch to the community feel.
And let me say this—the garage space is the best I have ever seen at any apartment complex.
Overall, I would absolutely recommend The Standard to anyone looking for a great place to live. The people here make it feel like home.

I’ve had a good overall experience living here and think it deserves five stars for several key reasons. Management is excellent — they’re friendly, responsive, and genuinely open to feedback. Service requests are handled quickly, which I really appreciate. The area feels quite safe, and the location is super convenient with the DART station and two major highways nearby. Amenities like the pool, gym, and business center are solid, and the units themselves are comfortable, well-maintained, and a good value for the price compared to other options in the area.
That said, there are a few things worth noting. The B buildings don’t have garage access and sit close enough to the Renner/Plano intersection that you can hear some road noise. The hedges around the complex, while nice for privacy, make it a bit tricky to see pedestrians when driving in or out. Also, package deliveries can be hit or miss — you need to stay on top of them since missing or stolen packages do happen.
Overall, though, it’s a great place to live with a responsive management team, convenient location, and good overall value for the area. I’d recommend it, especially if you’re looking for a clean, safe, and well-managed community.
