My son just moved into the Park Building and we are overall very satisfied so far. We had an issue with the dishwasher and it had to be replaced — everything was handled very quickly. The management was extremely responsive. Salvador, the handyman, was amazing: very kind, professional, efficient, and helpful! Thank you team Parker.

I am updating my previous one-star review to reflect more recent experiences. After I left my unhappy review, management contacted me to discuss the concerns I had shared. They explained that there had been a transition in the leasing office right at the time I was moving in, which caused many of the misunderstandings I experienced.
Elicia personally followed up with me and resolved the issue regarding the one-month free concession, which I truly appreciate. Since then, I have also noticed improvements in daily maintenance, more convenient office hours, and better access to the management team. It’s clear that the new management and staff are making an effort to improve operations, and those changes are visible.
I believe an updated review carries more value than a one-time positive review, which is why I wanted to share this. I hope management continues to build on these improvements, because it makes a big difference for current and future residents.
I’ve been very unsatisfied with my experience living here. The front office and management team are extremely disorganized and unhelpful.
Before moving in, I called their office to ask whether the apartment I was interested in qualified for the leasing special they were advertising (up to several weeks of free rent). The person on the phone assured me that it did, and that was the reason I chose this apartment. However, after moving in, they told me my unit did not qualify for that special offer.
On top of that, they miscalculated my prorated rent, charging me almost $200 more than I should have paid. If I hadn’t noticed and reminded them, they wouldn’t have corrected it or given me any credit.
Another example of how dysfunctional things are here: couriers are not allowed into the building, even if you’ve paid for “to-door” delivery services. All packages, including heavy ones, must be left in the package room. Tenants have to carry them to their apartments, but there’s either no trolley available or there’s always some issue with it.
Their office hours are also very inconvenient for people who work, making it difficult to find anyone in the office when you need help. And even if you do find someone, they often seem unwilling to provide any service that would make life easier for tenants.
Given how expensive it is to live here, the lack of support and poor communication make things especially frustrating for professionals. I would not recommend these apartments unless significant improvements are made in how the management operates and serves residents.

The leasing office ding address issues. The resident’s garage is widely open since a year ago and no repair. Legally this a feature paid for through rent by residents, yet they don’t discount the rent because they not fixing the garage gate as appears it cost a lot , so I wonder if they have any insurance on their property
Their portal doesn’t work to pay monthly automatic payment and now want cacher check every month.
No cameras installed outside , luxury car was vandalized and no single camera to capture the criminals. So if you happen to be arriving midnight and you get vandalized, no cameras capture the criminals & doesn’t cost much to install few cameras.
They need new community manager !!

Certainly,
Honestly,
I resided there for over a year, a year and a half to be precise, and I can affirm that it was truly exceptional.
The office is exceptionally pleasant (special recognition to Kaitlyn, and previously Camisha, who has done an outstanding job!), as is the staff. The building is well-maintained and respectable. It's incredibly peaceful for studying, and all the amenities are readily available. They arrange activities for the residents, providing a fantastic opportunity to connect and enjoy life there! Whenever there's an issue in the apartment, the staff is extremely courteous and responsive.
It's conveniently located near everything, with two main bus lines connecting to SF.
Staying there was a pleasure, and I wholeheartedly recommend this building! I hope to return very soon, as it significantly enhanced my Berkeley experience ☺️
Admittedly, it's a bit pricey, but if you can afford it, it's absolutely worth every penny.
I genuinely cherished my time there! Nothing but positive vibes, all thanks to the incredible office! I'll miss it.

I feel obliged to give this complex some credit where credit is due. I moved here about a month ago with some minor reservations having read the reviews about the management team. When I arrived mid-September, I had a chance to meet the new property manager who had started that week. He was incredibly friendly, attentive and offered me a direct line of communication should I have any issues. Move-in was a breeze with his help, he helped me work with maintenance to get keys and a tour of the property. Mike and I discussed that he was well aware of the concerns with package security, maintenance concerns and other issues he recognized were a challenge for the previous management team. About a week later, Mike had the package room secured 24/7 and completely distributed all packages and organized the remaining few. Since then, he has been enforcing that all packages be delivered either to the door of the resident or in the package locker. As the change is being implemented, it has drastically improved. I have not had any issues with packages and feel assured now that the package room is being controlled by the leasing office. As far as maintenance requests, I had an electrical outlet issue that was quickly fixed within a couple of days, no follow-up required.
As a new resident, I'm really happy to see that the property owners have listened and made the necessary changes to the property management team. I'm fully confident Mike will continue to make the necessary improvements to make the Parker worthy of a 5-star review again. Keep up the good work.
Update (3 JAN 2022): Unfortunately some of the improvements I mentioned before have degraded. It seems they have undergone a change in management again in just a few short months. The package lockers have stopped being used and the package room is an unorganized mess again. The monthly package locker fee is still being charged even though the lockers are not being used to secure packages. As far as maintenance is concerned, there were some changes and it’s now starting to cause some issues, trash chutes are constantly backed up and the trash piles up for days. I inquired about my washer only filling up half way and was told that the washing machines are meant to do small loads only and if I need to wash more I should use a bucket to fill it up with more water. I had a third party repairman look at it and said it was a problem with the sensor and it needed to be replaced. Unfortunately, I’m not going to pay out of pocket for that and will just have to deal with the machine not working properly since it won’t be repaired in house.
Update (19 JAN 2022):
We’re getting there. Responsive management team. Happy to report we got the washer situation fixed. I understand it’s a challenge here for whatever reason but I appreciate the attentiveness. Package situation is a work in progress but seems better post holiday season. Maintenance is short staffed so I understand the back log. Kudos to the new team.
Update (3 FEB 2022):
With more important things to worry about at this complex, now the parking situation is an issue. For months I have asked repeatedly for parking tags. To date I haven’t received any and I was part of their “parking audit” to receive one of those large, dangerous (try driving to work with that on) and hard to remove stickers for not having parking tags. It took 4 months before I was notified what parking space I was paying $175 for a month. Then they start doing this parking audit when they couldn’t even provide parking tags for everyone. This is honestly unacceptable. I understand the intent to try to secure the parking area but this was poorly executed and now I’m a very disgruntled tenant.
Update (25 MAR 2022):
Granted all the things I’ve mentioned, I’m happy to report the package room now has a better organized layout. I know it won’t be perfect, but it’s drastically better. Trash issue has improved. Kudos to the current team.
