The Standard did not return our security deposit despite the apartment being professionally cleaned and left with no damage. We were charged for deductions that are inaccurate and did not occur. This issue has remained unresolved for over a year, and we are firmly requesting the return of our full security deposit in accordance with California tenant law.

It’s been 7 months since my son moved out, have called them, emailed them. No one responds. They have not returned our security deposit. Cannot believe how they can get away with this when state law clearly mandates them to do so within 14 days of move out.

Started out pretty good but running into a lot of problems lately. Trash in stairwells and other places. Inconsistent WiFi dropping which is mission critical for calls and no good cell signal to fall back on. Elevator was out. Biggest concern is management didn’t get back quickly in the issues.

The standard at Berkeley is an okay place to live for how expensive it is. The amenities are average and the cleanliness isn’t amazing with my apartment and any other apartments suffering from fruit fly problems. The stairwells are disgusting and access to the stairwells from various floors is inconsistent with the fob scanners being broken on some floors while working on others. The pricing is outrageous when compared to some of the other apartments in the surrounding area and apartment units with more people living in them do not have better appliances or larger appliances than those which don’t. The walls are extremely thin and provide no soundproofing at all.

My son loves living In the Derby floorplan! The office responds quickly to my emails and I appreciate Gabby and Andrew for answering all of my questions. They are so kind and helpful❤️! I will definitely look at this place again when my daughter goes to UC Berkeley next year.
