I truly try not to bother my time with writing reviews however considering the large ammount of time you'll be at your own apartment i think its worth commenting on how awful this place is. I'm a college student, i chose this place because it was cheap, seemed close enough to a bus stop and to campus. Walmart and a gas station are also right around the corner. however i found the 1.5 year i was here extremely annoying. First off, if you walk or prefer taking the bus to class and they give you an apartment in the very back. It'll be an awful treck up hill everytime you come home. Maybe im just unathletic but the up hill walk winded me and any friends i had come over. Further more, if it snows. Its even WORSE. they seem to only shovel the main loop of the road so if your in the parking cut outs, good luck because the road will be insanely icy. and again, the uphill and downhill will make driving and parking so much worse. i also noticed that depending on your placement, you might not just get any sunlight at all. Inside the apartment they come prefurnished which honestly should be a plus. But it's not. The matress is always sliding off the bedframe, the bed frame is almost too big and i kept stabbing my thigh on the corner. The dresser and night stand are fine, maybe some wear and tear from pass tentant but they'll do. However the "desks" they give u arent actually desks. theyre two pieces of wood BOLTED to the wall most likely infront of your only window. you pay 800$ at the cheapest and 1500+ at most a month and you cant move your own desk??? There is no ac either which actually isnt too big of a deal, but when you walk up hill after a class in the warmer months and then you walk up a bunch of stairs just to get into your apartment it becomes extremly hot. However you could just buy a portable ac, but then you would have to LUG IT up the stairs too. moving in and out was awful. the bathrooms are fine, everything works. The only issue is that the bathtubs will creak no matter what, that just seems to be a general thing. there is NO in-unit washer or dryer. You have a communal one down the stairs in which the price will change and go up. it becomes very annoying and its two washers and dryers for probs 30-40 people per building. And god knows how annoying that can be. Office staff seem nice and friendly, i mean they have over i imagine 2000 tennats at any given time. However i find them extremely hostile?? at least the main manager brittaine is. I dont know if i always catch her when shes mostly stressed but shes extremely passive agressive. They say you should email them but they dont ever reply to emails so you have to chase them down on the phone or go to the office. they blamed a mis charge on me and then gave me a fee for it. I had to call, deal with a rude landlord and then go down with printed reciepts and bank statments. Only then did they admit it but they still tried to pin it on me lmfao. There is no ammenties that make this place worth it. i mean their club house is nicer then the actual apartments, but the only things i ever used was maybe the printer? The gym seemed lack luster, and a basketball court isnt the most useful thing ever. Sure they have one of the cheapest rates around town. They seem convient, and hell the walking trails and the trees around make for some very pretty scenes. But its not worth it. Truly invest in your happiness and spend an extra 200-400$ on a better place. Oh also, you dont know your roommates nor can you choose them. I got stuck with an absolute perv who i avoided like the plague and basically made the common spaces of the the apartment unusable. They wont do anything either, they're not student housing so obvi they wont. They just said be cordial and deal with it. Also for some reason they're always shutting off the water and power for certain buildings?? I didn't live in them but i got emails of when they would and i imagine it would be super annoying.

I've had a great living experience at Highland Village Apartments! The staff and the property manager Britany have been very accommodating, and maintenance is quick if you have an issue with any appliances.
