Security guard threw a package at me, I threw it right back at him. Didn’t like that so he followed me back to my car. Told me that he is a boxer and a former soldier of sorts lol

If you own an EV and are looking for an apartment to live with a EV charger, avoid this place. They only have the slowest speed Level 2 charger, and it costs $0.60/kWh, meaning every time you charge the vehicle, you'll end up paying around $50 for a slow-speed charge which is way more expensive than EVgo and Electrify America. complete rip off.

I lived in apartment 903 at Westmore on Wilshire for a year. The view from the unit is beautiful, and the building overall is pretty clean. There is usually a security guard at the front desk, which is a nice touch. But that is about where the positives end. The walls are unbelievably thin. I could hear neighbors sneeze, snore, and have full conversations through the walls. I stream music as part of my work, and I would play music during the day. It was never blasting like a festival, just regular music in my living room. Still, my neighbor from 904 would constantly come to my door to complain. This wasn’t a one-time thing. She made it a habit, and eventually started telling other residents about me. People I had never even met came up to me saying things like “Oh, you’re the DJ” because she had gone around talking about it. Meanwhile, I could clearly hear things happening in her apartment that were very personal, and I never made it anyone else’s business. Also, I wasn’t even playing music in the room next to hers. There was a whole room in between. That should give you an idea of how thin the walls really are. Eventually I mostly used headphones. But I still heard her having guests over regularly, and I could also hear another neighbor from 902 yelling around at 2 AM. Yet I was the one being reported. It felt targeted and honestly like harassment. I never felt truly welcome in my own home. Another issue was the air quality inside the unit. Anytime a neighbor cooked, the smell would flood into my apartment. If something was burned, I would start feeling lightheaded and unwell. I reached out to management, but there was nothing they could do. It is just how the building is constructed. There is also a mandatory valet trash service, which you are required to pay for. It often leaves trash bags leaking and smelling up the hallway. And if you miss their limited pickup window, there is no trash chute. You have to walk your trash all the way to the basement. It is extremely inconvenient. The garage is another hassle. It is technically attached to the building but feels like a separate structure. Depending on where you park, you have to walk up or down multiple stairs inside the garage, which makes no sense and adds to the inconvenience. When I moved out, they charged me around $600 to repaint the walls. I was told this was mandatory even though I only lived there one year. I expected a reasonable fee around $350, but $600 still felt excessive and unnecessary. I had a deal when I moved in that included Wi-Fi, parking, and an extra special that counted toward the rent. But when it came time to renew, the new rate would have been almost $500 more per month. If you move in with a promotion, just know it won’t last and the rent jump may be significant. Lastly, the overall environment in the building felt cold. Most neighbors are extremely unfriendly. No one says hello. I met maybe one kind person the entire year. That kind of isolation, combined with everything else, took a real toll on my mental health. Since moving out a month ago, I have noticed a huge improvement in how I feel. Westmore looks polished on the outside, but living there was stressful, isolating, and not worth the price. I would not recommend it to anyone who values peace, privacy, or a healthy living environment

Lived here for three years. Paper thin walls. Miserable property manager. Stupid tenant rules. My rent also went up by a lot after each year too. So much so that I was better off moving to a bigger place, which is what I did. Only looking back to leave this word of caution to anyone considering this place.

I’ve been living at Westmore for 4.5 years, and it's easily been my favorite apartment in LA so far! When I first moved in back in 2020, the management was under different leadership, and, to be honest, things weren’t well-maintained. But everything took a turn for the better in 2021 when new management stepped in! With two fantastic live-in managers, this place has truly become a hidden gem. Let me share what I love about it ;) The view from the upper floors is stunning! Thanks to the super high ceilings in these units, even if you're on the 9th floor, it feels like you're on the 15th. The large, uniquely shaped windows also give the apartment so much character. Though we don’t have outdoor amenities, there’s a newly renovated gym, a sauna, and a spacious party/activity room. The commercial-grade laundry machines in the basement are a lifesaver! With 24/7 security, I've never felt this safe in an LA apartment. I was nervous about living alone before, but here, I don’t worry at all. My last apartment had constant theft issues and stolen packages, but I’ve NEVER had a problem like that at Westmore! I haven’t had a single bug issue here, which is honestly rare for LA. Now, let me share a few downsides so you don’t think I’m some automated review ;) Before moving in, I was concerned about the reviews mentioning thin walls. It’s been an interesting experience because, aside from one neighbor (college kids partying at 3 a.m. for some reason), I barely hear anything from the others. Maybe I’ve just had great neighbors, but it’s not nearly as bad as people say. Parking can be a bit of a hassle depending on where your spot is since the parking garage doesn’t have an elevator. But we do have great guest parking, which makes inviting friends super easy (and trust me, that's rare in LA). Other than that, there’s really not much to complain about. I hope this review helps you decide if Westmore is your new home! Overall, Westmore is truly a gem :)
