Edit after the reply: I want you all to understand how sincere I am when I say that this company’s replies are completely false. After hour accommodations were never made, as I would never request such a thing. Additionally, I have the uber receipts to show that the parking lift was down significantly more than what they are claiming. This was an issue at least once a month, on average. Additionally, Allen Ruggers (the recent positive reviewer) is almost certainly buddy buddy with the owner, do a quick search of some business registries and you’ll draw the parallels pretty quickly yourself. I lived in the Oro for a little over a year. I was respectful of my space and caused no issues the entire time I lived there. I would NOT recommend people move into this building. 1- The parking lift is constantly broken. If you have a job you need to get to on time, and your car is inside the lift, good luck. At least during the time of my tenancy, they would reimburse you for any ride shares you took due to lift failure, but this does not solve the problem if you have personal belongings in your car, or if the wait for a ride share causes you to be late to work. 2- No AC in studios/1 bed rooms. You may think that this is okay and doable with a portable AC unit. IT IS NOT. Our apartment(even with portable AC blasting) was constantly over 80 degrees, even when the winter storm came and temps outside were near 0. In the summer, our bedroom became completely unusable as the temperatures were over 100 degrees. This is no exaggeration. The thermostat maxes out at 99 (limitation of 2 digits) and sat on 99 for the majority of the summer. 3- Little to no access to property manager. The hours that the office staff work are horrid and inaccessible for anyone who works a standard 9-5 job. 4-The building owner’s QUESTIONABLE views. Just do a simple google search of Oro Building Owner and you will see the display he put on that made the news. I personally do not feel comfortable knowing my rent money is going anywhere near his pockets. As always, do what’s right for your family, but I can assure you that you can find a better apartment for a similar price in the neighborhood.

I used to live here. The apartments are nice but I don’t believe this is a “luxury” apartment compared to other similarly priced in the area. I still liked it fine but things went downhill when the leasing manager changed and then the owner started going on this ridiculous anti-homeless crusade against the city of Portland. I still live in this area and if anything the new shelter has made the area safer—I no longer see tents on the sidewalks or people sleeping on the street. The owners actions make me wish I never put any money in his pockets. He is wasting tenants’ money on frivolous lawsuits and ridiculous public stunts. Plenty of things could be improved around the building before you start using your money suing the city for…getting homeless people OFF the streets? I would not recommend this apartment building to anyone.
