We moved to Bucking Horse in September of 2024. I loved the apartment complex for the first year. The move in process was great, the staff was friendly and helpful and the grounds were well maintained and quiet. They recently sold to another management company. The main complaint I've had with them is their transition to the smart home technology. To use your thermostat and door lock now there is an app, iApartments. There was no way of opting out of this change. There is nothing present in the past lease that I have signed about allowing for these changes. No one wants this. They assure you everything is anonymous, no data collection exists from the app and that it is secure. We've all heard that before. Companies like this are notorious for collecting data and storing it even when they say they are not. And when the data breaches eventually do happen, I'm confident no one will be held responsible. They never are. If we had a choice in the matter that would be a different story. I wouldn't have moved into an apartment with app controlled locks from the start. On the other hand, the maintenance staff are great. Very helpful. The management used to be great. The new manager is less than friendly and always seems to be annoyed. We will be leaving after this lease term. I encourage you to look elsewhere. TLDR: Used to be 5 stars, now probably 3. I'm frustrated with the recent changes and the lack of flexibility

We moved here in May and we love it! The office staff is friendly and efficient. Henry and Quinn (who seem to repair and maintain everything around here) are also always on the spot and respectful and friendly when they come in to check and/or fix things. The pool is lovely. The grounds are well-maintained and there's always plenty of parking. We also like that there are so many (optional) community events. Trash and recycling are easy to access and the proximity to the trail network and to the restaurants and stuff at Jessup Farm make this an excellent place to live. Big fans!
