The on-site manager in any apartment-living situation makes all the difference in one's quality of life. As a relatively new renter after living in a house for most of my life, I have not been particularly impressed with the "typical" manager, who is usually "getting by" but never going "above and beyond" for the wellbeing of the residents, UNTIL KARLA ARRIVED! She stays available to residents, even when she isn't on-site. I alwys know she will answer me asap.
So I'd like to state publicly that ever since Karla came to the Fitz, I have been pleasantly shocked, so much so, that I truly worry about the day when she might leave. She cares a great deal about the state of the building and takes pride in making it as nice as possible, as if she lives here too. She answers immediately when I email her, and does her best to reasonably resolve any problem. The key is that she is a person with higher standards, who cares a lot about how she does her job. This has been a huge boost to my confidence in living here, and I hope she will stay here for as long as I'm here! I am crossing my fingers...

I enjoyed living here since 2 years and now returning to my home country otherwise would love to continue stay in this community. The apartment is pretty good with nice location, spacious layout, wonderful ventilation and lighting, awesome appliances and what not. The new staff is very cooperative and quick in response. Had wonderful experience during lease renewal and watering my plants during my long travels.
Bit of feeling unsafe during garage door damage happed couple times during my stay period. This needs to be taken care for safety of residents and cars in the garage.
Overall, carrying wonderful memories along with me. Thankyou.

The Fitz is overpriced & contains ants & roaches 🪳. I couldn’t believe it. I stayed for a week & found out how awful it is to live here. The staff is incredibly rude & if you take an issue to them, like a infestation on the top floor of an overpriced apartment they become very agitated & aggressive. Perhaps you should take better care of your apartments & tenants. They keep the water pressure & heater on low so they save on costs, & there was black mold developing in the bathroom. Don’t move here unless you want to deal with infestation of disgusting critters, poor water pressure, & black mold in your lungs. Needless to say I moved out immediately after a week & found a much nicer, & cleaner apartment with wonderful staff on an even better side of town at an even better price! Do yourself a favor & choose a better quality space to live. You work hard for your money! Don’t waste it at this dump!

Update 8-16-2023
DO NOT MOVE TO THE FITZ!
My experience living here for almost a year from June 2022-June 2023 was disappointing, expensive and stressful.
I was consistently disappointed with the lack of urgency and care the property manager Sydney Hope (at the time) expressed when I had concerns/issues with the comfort of my apartment. For example, within the first week of moving in, ceiling water damage was detected which took almost 2 months to repair. The repair required an extremely loud industrial grade dehumidifier machine so as to remove the water damage from the surrounding structure and the machine had to be placed in the middle of the apartment. The property manager at the time Sydney Hope (which has been let go/fired as of June 2023) did not offer to move me to another apartment while repairs were being done and neither did I receive any type of compensation for the stress and misery this caused me and my pet. This was among the many issues I experience as a residence.
BE ADVISED! For those considering parking your or your visitors vehicle in front of The Fitz, make sure you do not have dark tinted windows and please remove anything of value that's visible inside the vehicle for vandalism and theft are frequent while parking at The Fitz for no apartment security cameras/personnel exist.
Lastly, my quality of life was down graded by choosing to live at The Fitz. The Fitz has no amenities, lack of a welcoming community, No mail room for packages which are mostly left unsecured on the lobby floor. The amenities for example; dog washing station, gym and more bike storage space were promised when I signed the lease which never came to exist.
June 2022
I want to thank Sydney Hope the community manager for her exemplary kindness, effort and thoughtfulness we experienced upon our guided tour at The Fitz Apartments Portland. Because of Sydney’s expertise, patience and readiness to answer questions with such knowledgeable precision, the process of becoming a tenant at The Fitz has been comfortable. I look forward to making The Fitz my home knowing that I’m in good hands with the help of its dedicated staff. Thanks again Sydney!

Update: I initially gave a 5-star review, but we’ve been robbed twice since we moved in (the thefts were likely perpetrated by l people who had higher-level building access) and we’ve had mixed responses from the building staff.
The building is nice, and our move-in experience was smooth; our apartment is beautiful and in great condition. Sydney, the property manager, made sure we had everything we needed and then some! We are grateful to her and Dickson for all their help.
