Since the property management change to Avenue5 last year, I've had a really wonderful experience living here. Even before that I really enjoyed my apartment and the neighborhood, but there were some issues with maintenance and a lack of security. Since that change I've found the staff to be very friendly, responsive, and helpful and haven't had any issues. There's also now security onsite overnight and the building feels very safe and secure. I definitely recommend!

If you want your packages stolen on a regular basis from inside the building (Happened to at least 3 other residents), your bike and/or bike accessories stolen from inside the locked bike room, 0 cameras or real security other than some guy from a security company who occasionally walks in and takes photos of the bike rooms, a key fob that gives you access to both buildings when you only live in one, shady occurrences and smells continue to increase probably because they have flex pay where you can pay your rent in cash, maintenance only available a limited amount of the week, elevators breaking in both buildings on multiple occasions; one that did not work for MONTHS, house less folks trying to get into the building as well as messing with your vehicle in their parking space, be managed by a company that clearly does not care about you, and to be nickel and dimed for everything little thing when you move out then you should definitely move to The Vaughn. Worst building and management I had ever lived in in Portland.

Absolutely wonderful place to live. It’s in a great neighborhood as well! It’s very clean, the people are nice, and management does their best! We don’t have a leasing office on sight so sometimes it takes a while to hear back on a Maitence request or get questions answered but that’s alright. With it being a new build some things hadn’t been tested to see if they work in our apartment before move in but within a week they were all fixed! Including a brand new dish washer because ours hadn’t been working. Overall a great place to live! I understand the reviews about bikes and storage getting stolen but this hasn’t happened since we moved in and really doesn’t apply to us since we don’t have bikes… but it’s Portland Oregon I’m not sure what else to expect 😂

Update: 7/9/24 Since property management has shifted to Avenue5, the living experience has improved significantly! Management has made a real effort to help residents and are way more responsive! I definitely wish the complex had AC, but management has been kind enough to lend portable units. Old review: I was excited to move to a more modern building in a quieter part of NW Portland, but I've been pretty disappointed with management at The Vaughn. They are pretty unresponsive and seem more occupied with filling up the building than assisting the current residents. Even simple things like getting access for deliverers to the mailroom seem like too much for management. More worrisome is the lack of communication when incidents do occur; when there was break in in the bike storage, we were not alerted by management at all. We only heard about it from another resident who posted the details in the elevator. Managements only response was to take the notice down. It doesn't even appear that the bike lockers have been fully secured even after the break in. Hopefully the building will become safer with a full-time manager and as the building fills up.

Just moved in about a month ago and have had a great experience! Brianna, Ed, and the rest of the Leasing/Property/Maintenance team have been very communicative and responsive as we have gotten settled. Great layouts and love having a little balcony access as well! Great prices don't hurt too :)
